Is the aftermarket radio supposed to reachable via the CAN bus for diagnostics purposes?
I don't think there's any way to make an aftermarket radio installation completely fault-free in these cars. Those radios usually have a partial implementation of the CAN bus messages that a factory radio would have. Enough to do what they need to do, but not enough to make the rest of the car completely happy about it. A typical owner who doesn't have a scan tool would never know...

Then I suggest a message to the seller of the Android unit might be the way forward. There's nothing can really be changed to suit the aftermarket unit, it's up to the unit manufacturers to ensure its accessible by the car.

Almost certainly not IMHO... the scans for every other car I have seen fitted with an aftermarket radio produces this error on 5F diagnostics even though all the other functions such as info and controls work.

I still think asking the seller would be the easiest way to address the issue. You have a contract with them since you paid them for the unit on the basis that it should work with your car. Since it's not doing as you wish or expect, I seriously think that messing with your car blindly to try and make it work isn't a good idea. You could well end up with more wrong than you start with.

Have they given details? An aftermarket device supporting factory diagnostics would be VERY unusual, so there's reason to doubt that...
