    Dynamic Chassis Control Retrofit

I got hold a DCC Kit for the Sharan and got it installed successfully.

Everything went smoothly and the last obstacle was the basic setting.

I tried to use the VCDS to do the basic setting but it's no good.

Eventually, have to rely on the ODIS 5054A to do the basic setting and get the system to work.

Wish RT can do something about this. The ODIS is a real pain !

This is hardly enough information for us to do anything with.

Yeah, one of us (likely based on RoW customer feedback) came up with a VW Golf Mk6 based procedure which made it to this VW Scirocco (13) Suspension Electronics page. I'm pretty sure we need to credit Niels (NEtech) for the R8 / Audi Mk6 Golf based procedure .. but either way we'd need to see the Auto-Scan from the vehicle in question before providing a procedure.

I had found this post and tried to follow the instructions mentioned. There was alot of values shown but no indications. The value shown is in between the indicated the min and max. No indication if it is correct or incorrect or if anything is amiss. When I pressed the "GO" icon, it states there is an error but did not show where the problem is. Tried several times until I gave up. Sent it to the dealer to fix it but it took them a whole day ! They fixed it but I do not have any information how it was done apart from the picture a mechanic snapped for me.

If it is possible, RT could have some pop up messages to show the user where a problem is happening and what should be done. Or some instructions or steps to follow to the next step.

    That would be nice.

Electronic Damping Control J250 - Basic Settings
    Prerequisites:
    Battery Voltage = 12.0 - 14.0 V
No fault codes other than 01087 - Basic Setting Not Performed
Vehicle is lifted off the ground, on a suitable vehicle lift

    [Select]
    [14 - Susp. Elect]
    [Meas. Blocks - 08]
Note: The values stored in the Measuring Value Blocks below are the Minimum and Maximum sensor values.

    Group-054 Field-1 = G78 - Min value
    Group-054 Field-2 = G78 - Max value

    Group-055 Field-1 = G289 - Min value
    Group-055 Field-2 = G289 - Max value

    Look at:
    Group-003 - Field-1,2,3 - Actual Sensor values
If the values are with in the range of the Min - Max stored values from MVBs 054 and 055 then Basic settings can be performed, if not inspect suspension or sensors.

    [Security Access - 16]
Enter 31564, to enable the basic setting.
    [Do it!]
    [Basic Settings - 04]
    Group 001
    [Go!]

    Sorry for digging old thread.

I would like to retrofit DCC on my VW Sharan 7N2.
I tried to contact this thread owner, but no avail.

Does anyone have information on where to purchase hardware parts, controller coding?
    Any help is appreciated.

I have retrofitted DCC on my Passat B6 (2008)
Bought all the parts on Ebay. Mostly in Germany.
    - shocks
    - springs
    - G-sensors
    - Level sensors

Some parts you can find also on Aliexpress
Connectors I bought at the dealership.
Bought a DCC computer with approx 20 cm of the old cable loom on it.
Have made the complete cable loom myselve.

I am also planning DCC retrofit on my Golf, I have some parts already, almost everything but shocks.

I don't understand if I need to replace springs as well...
my Golf came out of the factory with 13 ECUs. now she has 19. and counting

It's not necessary to replace springs.
If you are happy with the hight of the springs. Leave it.

    awesome, thanks!

can you share a little more details about the retrofit? specifically, I still need to know:

    - do you just wire everything up and it magically works? I doubt, so how did you perform basic settings?
    - I noticed that module 14 has no coding, is it all done by adaptations?

are you happy with DCC and would you recommend it, or is just wasted money? I hear lots of opinions both sides actually.

Unsolicited opinion: I have a Golf with it from the factory. I am not terribly impressed.

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.
