Can I make a label file or to the brilliant minds at Ross-Tech have to do that for me?

I know I can edit one.

If I can, are there instructions someone can point me to?

Thank you!

What module are you looking to make a label file for?

The instructions for making a rudimentary one are in a file named 'template.lbl' in your labels folder.

Other question, since I am doing own label files; is there any way to submit labels to RT for further inclusion in upcoming releases/data versions?

Sorry for highjacking, DicknNancy. I might be able to help you nevertheless. Feel free to post questions.

Nice Idea, I´ve done some Labels by myself and could submit them to RT

E-mailing them to Support@RT would be best.

I want a label file for my V10 engine for starters. I'll look over the template file for format.

I guess I'm wondering how to collect the data to put in the file.

Do we have a scan of your car somewhere? I'm guessing the label file you're looking for exists in German.

I don't think you'd have a scan of my specific car, but if you have a scan of a BKW 7L6 2004 V10 engine in any language I'd take a crack at translating to english.

Well here's the one I'm back to working on now and it has the scan for that. https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?18741-Dead-Touareg-Challenge&p=165559#post165559

My other V10 is a BKW engine (working nicely thankfully :) )and I can post a scan for that also if needed.

They are both 2004's so the same label file should apply I think.

I did find the 7l-01.lbl redirection file but as you can see it does not include the 5.0L

Sure it does. That one (070-997-016-R) redirects to 070-906-016-AYHx, and think we have those in German.

The main office is down (Crash outside that wiped out a pole containing internet and left a live power line in the street) but we can get you fixed up with a redirect -or- the native German files. If the office isn't functional tomorrow I should still be able to assist so don't hesitate to bump this back up.

The redirects are encrypted for 07-xx

07-01.clb
07-11.clb
07-31.clb

.. but each point to 070-906-016-AYH1, AYH2 and AYH3. Those are German only. (Internal ref to FS#1529)

The other option is to get you redirect files which point at another V10 file set with English files. Posing a scan from the other V10 would be helpful so I can see which controllers it uses.

Edit. As of 8/8/2019 @ 12:02 (Eastern) I sent you an email with subject: Ross-Tech V10 TDI label files for Component: V10 5,0L EDC: 070 997 016 R
It contains the German label files for now.

Thank you for the files. I did toss them in to see what they looked like. I was hoping I could translate what you sent, but alas they are encrypted. I replied with a scan of my other V10 and look forward to what you might be able to provide.

I hope your power is back on soon!
