Hello,

Would anyone happen to know if there is a setting to stop the AC from going into Recirc mode when set to the lowest temperature?

This is my module, but nothing seems obvious to that effect in the coding:
2012 Tiguan with engine code AX, but I think it's the same as 5N

Code:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 08: Auto HVAC (J301) Labels:| 3C8-907-336.clb
   Part No SW: 7N0 907 426 AN HW: 7N0 907 426 AN
   Component: AC Manuell H19 0404
   Revision: 00001016
   Coding: 0000004002
   Shop #: WSC 01324 020 00200
   ASAM Dataset: EV_ACManueBHBVW36X A01010
   ROD: EV_ACManueBHBVW36X_VW36.rod
   VCID: 005A896FAA8B92F79ED-8054

No fault code found.

I'm not seeing anything there that's likely to do that. Not in Coding and not in Adaptation.

Thank you very much for checking.

It’s kinda funny, the Tig won’t let me do any of the tweaks I would like to do.
Except for the tear drop wiper one.
D’oh! :)

Still, the interface paid for itself the one time I did the rear brakes!
The rest is icing on the cake.

Just interested to know why you would like to make this change, what benefit would you get?
I assume you live on a hot climate to have the ac at the lowest setting, otherwise it would be low on gas.

Good question - it blows hotter air when on recirc.
I'm not sure if it's a problem with this car or the design, but ever since we got it there were some things we didn't like about the HVAC setup.
Like blowing hotter air on the driver side than the passenger side (in winter time), taking longer to cool when in recirculate mode in the summer.

By comparison, my Q3 doesn't automagically set the recirc mode when I move it to the coldest setting, but the Tig does.

AFAIK the recirc mode is (also) related to the window blowing/"defogging"/defrosting - what if you set it to low temp with other vents than to the window? Is it the same?

No difference. If I turn on the fan and it's set to the lowest temp, it turns on recirculating, regardless.
Also, if I lower the temp while in AC mode, it turns on recirc once it gets close to the lowest temp (end of turn for the knob).
