    03 golf trans code 65280

Time for me to ask the experts again.

I got a strange transmission code on this golf, I haven't been able to find any info about it anywhere.

The transmission is slipping. I'm gonna check the fluid now but...

I'm kinda thinking tcm. Any thoughts?

    Code:

I didn't get into it yet but is there a quick answer for the airbag codes as well?

The secondary air code is what it is, broken air tubes, the radio code is a broke off antennae, and all the locks and windows work so not worried about that.

    Thanks ahead of time.

    This is a weird code...

I asked the Googles and found evidence that might be an error. The description for DTC 65280 might be "Data Bus Powertrain ABS Control Module Hardware defective". I think the "Development code 1" text may belong to DTC 65281 instead. However, we'll need Ross-Tech to confirm that.

Why do you think that's an error, Jason? I'm pretty dang confident the factory tool would show "Entwicklungscode 1"

I wonder if there's a test plan for it though. Y'all can bump this on Monday if nobody else has come up with anything.

    That's a strange code which I have.

    VAG Error Code: 65280

    Fault Location:
Controller Area Network (CAN) Data Bus, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) - Defective

    Possible Cause:
AntiLock Braking System (ABS) trouble code(s) stored.
    Wiring/Connector(s).
Matching resistor in Engine Control Module (ECM).

There are a lot of Development error codes.

I don't know, I only guess, hence the "might" and the deferral to Ross-Tech.

It looks like Keithuk found the same reference I did.
