I AM LOOKING FOR SOME HELP WITH THE HVAC V158 BASIC SETTING.
I have only owned the car a few months and have been working through the faults. Managed to clean up quite a few and so happy with the Ross tech VCD software.
However the problem I am currently having needs a bit more knowledge than I have currently.
The original defect was V158 flapper motor fail, along with this only the left side of the cabin received warm air. Also on start up there was a motor running noise for maybe a minute (guessing it was the v158 trying to position correctly ) ( I should have done a basic setting at this point "newby" mistake )
I gained access to the V158 motor & gearbox and removed the assembly ( Steering column and brake pedals removed ) I checked the v158 flap moved freely.
So I purchased a second hand motor from an 2010 A4 that was installed in V159 position. Note : easiest to remove at the wreckers, it is the same part number unit. However it was an unknown unit as I could not test it.
I then took out of my Q5 the V159 as I knew this worked and installed it into the gearbox for v158 the reinstalled the assembly into that v158 position.
The new motor from the wrecker went to my v159 position.
I then carried out a basic setting for the potentiometer and flap alignment this test aborts and then I got msg that the V158 had exceeded upper limit. I have also done the basic address look up / initiation for flap motor
This is were I may have built in a defect (I made a bad choice ) I carried out a 08 auto HVAC adaption, standard settings. Before checking.
I then gained access to the V158 and removed the assemble, at this point I realized I may not have installed correctly onto the flap crank arm and hece it was exceeding its upper limit.
I then installed it correctly and ran the HVAC basic settings again and this is were I am up to with the defect. I am guessing I deleted some important info on the coding

So peps , anybody know how to retrieve the information, or know what the code should be ? and how to do it ? so I can get the basic HVAC performed ?
