Hi, is it possible to reprogram the function for the cigarette socket to only be powered when ignition is set to on, or only when car is running?

Programming not sure. However, recent models have two fuse sockets for the cigarette socket, one being permanently live and the other having a switched power supply. Swapping the fuse over will determine behavior. This is usually even explained in the normal owners manual.

Not that I'm aware of. Check wiring diagrams to see where the power for those outlets comes from.

That's true of many VW models but in an effort to save money sadly isn't true of most Skoda models :banghead:

Thanks for the reply folks, in acc to schematics, it seems like its wirered thru 1 fuse, and not switchable
Will investigate in the winter, when cold and shitty outside :-)
