2013 Volkswagen tdi blinking glow plug light limited rpms and no power
Car came in not running, checked fault codes. Cleared codes and deactivated transport mode. After car would start after a really long cranking and run poorly. Checked codes again and pin tested the faulting components back to the ecu. wiring tested good. Got a used ecu from the exact make and model (has different part # tho) and had Malone delete the immobilizer. Installed the ecu and it fired right up and initially had no codes in the engine. Took it for a drive, still glow plug light flashing and lack of power with limited rpms

Wow, the ECU has a whole truckload of various electrical malfunctions. All those things didn't fail simultaneously. There's some common source for most (if not all) of this. Get out your wiring diagrams, identify each of the components with a fault code, and look for what they might have in common. My WAG is a bad ground.

I agree it’s a centralized problem, the components didn’t fail all at once.and I did check the wiring from the components to the ecu and didn’t find anything wrong. Which is why I changed the ecu which did fix a bunch of things. I don’t have a good set of wiring diagrams for this car tho. I have the Bentley that covers up to cbea but not cjaa if anyone has some good engine diagrams for the cjaa and want to share them that would be great. no I’m not sure I have the right ecu. Although when I initially installed it it the car had very little faults. It wasn’t until I started clearing codes in other modules for no communication with the ecu that the faults started popping up in the engine. I’m prepared to get a pass through device to use Odis to work with the ecu. But I’m stuck right now. Is it worth coding the ecu to the car or is more likely I need to find bad wiring, or would a bad cluster cause these symptoms?

I do not think a problem with the instrument cluster could cause those faults in the ECU.
I do not think that "coding the ECU to the car" (which I presume means matching it to the immobilizer) is likely fix them either.
Assuming the ECU is correct for the car, I really think you've got some physical electrical problem that underlies this.

Looks like a wire is open or crossed on the daisy chain of shared components for EGT/Intake flap or a sensor on chain is wrong or faulty!
