As part of a kessy upgrade I have acquired a kessy compatible BCM - I just wanted to check that I could access the coding but of course I couldn't turn on the ignition without it! Put the original one back and the airbags have decided a crash has occurred and is telling all the other modules that it has serious fault which is killed ABS, TPMS, Adaptive Headlight, Lane Assist etc. I do have ignition now. Does anyone know how to reset the airbag crash detection? Very frustrating.

Here is the scan - before the BCM swap I had just one fault on the reverse camera as it is not calibrated. I am sure the problems are all emanating from the Airbags, most controllers complaining about faults in other modules, the only unit with an actual fault is the airbags. I have owned the car from new and it has never had any form of accident.

15-Airbags is sad about multi collision braking not being available from 03-ABS, which itself is sad due to a number of dependencies it feels like it's missing. Having a current gen interface would be really helpful here to decode the extended UDS fault data so we can see what the underlying problem is. Occasionally Uwe will help with one time translations, if asked nicely.
The gateway regarding 17-Instruments as offline is interesting, given that it responds to diagnostics. Has the car been returned to stock at this point? Have you made any wiring changes? Are you using a CAN gateway other than stock? We're mod friendly here, we just need to know how you got broke in order to fix you. As an example, the way the instrument cluster integrates with the CAN gateway has changed over time, and weird things could happen is it's on the wrong bus (convenience, extended, dedicated instrument cluster, etc).

I'm pretty confident that all three faults in the ABS point to it being upset over the fault in 3B-Sensor Electronics.
I suspect this car has a double entry for 17-Instruments that we normally suppress. IIRC, the double entry is due to the cluster being on two buses, and I would suppose the GW can't talk to it on one of them.

The car has a lot of mods but everything has been done via coding and adaptation, reverse camera, folding dimming mirrors, lane assist, traffic sign recognition, trailer, power close doors, all was all working fine until BCM swap to install kessy which for some reason seems to have upset the airbags. I have done some wiring but nothing that hasn't been tested over a long period of time. I cannot clear the crash fault - is it a bit like CP and needs the dealer? I have access to a "friendly dealer". Are you in agreement that the airbag crash fault is what is causing everything else?

Okay, so 3B lost its settings or calibration during your work, and running the basic setting procedure for 3B should resolve most of this domino chain of faults. I have no idea what that procedure is, but at least we got you this far. 
No, my gut says the root cause of the problem is that the 3B-Sensor Electronics module has lost its calibration. It contains all the accelerometers, which a whole bunch of the other modules depend on. I think the fault in the Airbags is just telling you that you can't get multi-collision braking due to a lack good data from 3B.

There are only two Basic Settings in that module:
IDE03567 -- Calibrate installation location
IDE06754 -- Reset inclination display adaptation values
I suspect a Security Access will be required, and I don't have one. I also don't know what else might be required.
It would certainly be interesting do this via ODIS and log what ODIS does.

OK thanks to everyone for the input and advice, for which I am extremely grateful. I am organising a slot with Alex from VAG Car Coding (UK) who has dealer level access and tools and report back as soon as I have an update.
OK success! I thought I would just try having a look at 3B and the basic setting - without security access it was able to perform calibration of the installation location, the inclination display failed stating incorrect conditions. I could clear the Airbag fault and then the errors on everything else. Thank you so much for you very prompt assistance. Is there a safe procedure for a BCM swap, once swapped the key doesn't work so how to get the ignition back on to code?
FYI - Instruments 17 always seems to show unreachable but is always accessible using normal controller access.
