Tiguan TDI conversion ABS help needed

Looking for some guidance.

Just installed a CJAA/DSG (FWD) from a 2012 Jetta into a 2012 Tiguan (TSI/4mo automatic).

Malone did the tune. Engine is working fine with the exception of a P0381 code which I cannot find on Wiki. Have checked for power and signal wires from ECU. Only thought on this would be that I have the gasser instrument cluster installed. I have a cluster from a Euro Tig TDI but have not installed it yet.

My second issue is with ABS coding. The tig was a 4 motion with Aisin 6 speed automatic. I removed prop shaft and disconnected the Haldex unit.
I have tried all the codes from this list and the closest I come to getting rid of the errors is 5185. The scan is with the 5185 code.

Any advice, pointers, direction, would be much appreciated on either the P0381 or the ABS coding

I would guess that the gasoline cluster is the reason behind the P0381 code. That cluster likely has no provision for diesel-specific warning light (the "glow plug" light). I'm skeptical that there's actually a physical circuit for this. I would guess it's more likely a virtual circuit implemented via CAN messages, but the net result is the same: The ECU knows it can't turn that warning light on.

100 % not cluster issue
you can install Petrol cluster to Diesel , and in reverse way ...no problem with that

First - your GW show incorrect coding

2nd - what VIN you keep in ECU ?
Did you adapt that ECU to your VIN, or just did IMMO OFF? to start engine

3rd - not use if Jetta talk good with EPB as she never see that in PQ35 , and you also have issue in EPB

Some errors will go if you write proper VIN to new ECU,.
similar is with PQ35 ABS , when VIN is a part of coding , and Engine type too
Even if ABS is use Cluster VIN, ECU still broadcasting VIN
If VIN is mismach - ABS can freak out because it see different platform

at the end .... if you not fix it , better use Passat ECU ...or Sharan , but B6/CC Passat with EPB, not NMS Passat US....

they use TRW ABS system and EPB

you can definitely stay away from cluster , this only "display "

UWE you are correct , Cluster is problem because missing Glow plug signal in cluster . I told him this last time that cluster has to be modified to work with TDI ECU when he did other Tiguan conversion few years ago.

As far as VIN you can see since he has VIN form Jetta so ABS will complain about this .Most likely he has Immo off

Did hundreds of cluster swap, some Petrol have no LED for DPF , and they working after SW conversion to diesel, and ECU not show any error
dont think so
I am almost 100% sure LED is on the PCB, just need proper EEprom from Diesel , so is much easier to play with that cluster , just with proper SW

Thank you Jetta, 97 and Spacewalker for your replies. It seems like you are contradicting each other on the cluster. The last conversion Jetta, 97 combined parts of the donor Golf IC with the Tig IC as they were fairly common to each other. On this conversion the donor Jetta's cluster was very basic and did not look the same. That's why I picked up a cluster from a Euro Tig TDI. My thinking is that would solve issues with the dual gas tank senders, have the correct tach and the GP light.

Changing the VIN in the ECU makes since to try and clear up the GW and possibly the ABS. Will the cluster need the VIN correction too?

Correct, but still have Gasoline Sw in it , that why I said need to be MODIFIED.

Just a follow up to my issues. Marin (Jetta, 97 helped me work through the issues and now everything is working and talking to each other as they should.
Just a few notes:

Needed Tiguan VIN # in donor Jetta ECU

Used stock Tiguan IC which Marin reworked with Passat TDI foils, so the tach and GP lights are correct. Also required some internal coding to work with the electronic brake

Coded ABS module with 5185 code

Now it is all good. Just have to get used to driving a DSG...…...
