I'm not sure if anyone else has done the same - but in an attempt to coalesce the community's knowledge of SA codes for MQB platform vehicles into a single reference source, I have collected the "known" SA codes in the table below. This has been (and it remains) a work-in-progress and the information has been "plagiarized" from various places (mostly on the net) over numerous years. I've tried where-ever possible to include data from reputable sources, but by definition the veracity of the information in the table cannot be guaranteed. That said, with time - many of the SA codes in the table have been "confirmed". I've also attempted where ever possible to assign attribution to the data - if I have erred, or if I have omitted a name, please advise and I will correct the error (and please accept my apology for the deficiency).

I'm happy to include further SA s if more are known
Don

Note: For those who are unaware, control modules on MQB platform vehicles are unforgiving when successive attempts are made to enter incorrect SA s; modules will lock-out for a period of time after just a couple of incorrect tries. If this happens - the car's ignition must be turned-on for the entire lock-out period (i.e. a Terminal 15 voltage is needed for the lock-out clock to count-down). No new entries (not even a correct SA) will be accepted by the module during the period that lock-out is active.
To confirm the status of the module to accept an SA, select Adv. Meas. Values option in the Open Controller screen for the module - then enter "IDE00323" into the search box and place a tick in IDE00323-- Security Access: Number of invalid keys.
VyzP4LC.png
The best situation for SA entry is for the Actual reported "number of invalid keys" to be equal to zero (as shown) - but most modules will/should tolerate a number less than 3 before they lock-out. If a module has locked-out, Actual = 0 returns after the the lock-down period lapses to signify that the module will accept new SA entries again.

Hi Don, I changed the title from MQB platform - Security Codes (SA) - work in progress -to- MQB platform - Security Codes - work in progress because our fancy forum acronym addon was breaking links to your thread. (It must have been the letters SA that were causing the issue)

Test URL https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?19270-MQB-platform-Security-Codes-work-in-progress
Yep it works.

P.S. I added lines above today: *5Q0-907-379-IPB-V1.lbl. That means I added those SA codes to that VCDS label file.

I'll try to continue doing that as I update files but I might need to start change-log post here if my comment lengths start breaking your chart.

20103 is accepted by almost every module, including 65 and the rear door control modules (BB and BC if i’m correct)...

EDIT:

If we're talking MQB and not only Golf VII, the following modules (amongst others probably, these are Tiguan/Arteon) are missing from the list:

- 06 Seat Memory Passenger SA Code: 20103
- 22 All-Wheel Drive SA Code: unknown
- 29 Left Light SA Code: 20103
- 36 Seat Memory Driver SA Code: 20103
- 39 Right Light SA Code: 20103
- 47 Sound System SA Code: 20103
- 4B Multifunctional Module SA Code: 20103
- 65 Tire Pressure SA Code: 20103
- 69 Trailer Module SA Code: 20103
- 6C Back-Up Camera SA Code: 20103
- 6D Trunk Electronics SA Code: 12345
- 82 Heads-Up Display SA Code: 20103
- BB Rear Door Electronics Driver SA Code: 20103
- BC Rear Door Electronics Passenger SA Code: 20103
- CA Sunroof SA Code: 20103
- CF Lane Change 2 SA Code: 20103
- D6 Light Control Left 2 SA Code: 20103
- D7 Light Control Right 2 SA Code: 20103

Scott: many thanks for your contribution - I've added your suggestion to the main table. Any comments regarding when/which models for this SA is suitable?

PS: For those who are unaware, control modules can be very temperamental where SA s are concerned. They tend to get cranky and they have a tendency to lock-out after a few incorrect attempts. If this happens - the clock count-down before any new entries are accepted is measured with the ignition turned-on (i.e. Terminal 15 active).

When performing the Auto Hold switch retro, security access codes for my 8V0 variant module did not work. I ended up having the following work for me:

ABS HW PN: 8V0-614-517 C

security access authorization / login code 20103
allowed for adaptation change: "Auto HOLD function status" or "Auto HOLD functional status" to "Always active"

security access authorization / login code 01138
allowed for Select adaptation "Auto Hold Fuse" or "Auto Hold Function" to "Always Active"

security access authorization / login code 01138
Allowed for Long coding changes

The SA code was taken from a poster who had ABS PN 8S0-907-379 from a 2017 TTS Roadster S-Tronic:
01138

@marttimat: Hi and thanks for your contribution to the thread. I have been remiss in not updating the table in post 1 above, but I need your help- please.

For clarification, other than 01138 (which I understand was successful), there are a staggering further 23 x new SA s in your post (those starting with "0"). Are you saying that ALL of these hitherto unknown security codes are kosher for MQB based hex03 modules? And are you able to explain more about the "poster"?

Don

Hey Don, I have not tried the remaining list of SA codes on my 8V0 variant ABS module but I am happy to do so when I have a free moment. At this time, luck was on my side and the first code did indeed work for me. I can shoot to trial these SA codes over the weekend.

As for the post, see the thread here where I got the list of codes (some familiar names on the thread )

@marttimat: Thanks for the explanation: I've included the new (sub 10000) SA s into the "master list", but I've given attribution to @pcbbc because he/she authored their introduction to the forum- as per your link .

As for testing all the (sub 10000) codes, no real need because all the security codes in the master list are provided without guarantee. Nevertheless, if you have the interest and the time, I'm sure the forum community would value any additional information about these mysterious beasties!!

^^^ @Robert-VW : done (thanks for the contribution)!!!

Don
PS: don't tell the great-man, but I also couldn't resist adding the hex33 module - given the way that VCDS reports this CAN address. The addition notwithstanding, I'm not at all confident of anyone finding a workable SA for the module in this lifetime - of course with time-travel and a functioning hex33 module, "this lifetime" is an infinitely vague construct at best!! :D
