Hi everyone, I have an Audi A3 with an issue with the air conditioning system. VCDS gives me the fault code 00735 potentiometer position sensor for recirculation flap (G143). I need the location of this potentiometer, I believe its the V113 one I need I have been to the scrapyard today and tried all the one on the passenger side, however the code comes straight back, there are 3 more motors located on the drivers side, Ive tried the bottom one and that didn't work so it must be one of the other two but it looks like the dash needs to come out to get them out? Does anyone have any idea which motor is the V113 or have a diagram of the air condition system and its components? Thanks

Hi and welcome.
Please post an Auto-Scan for context. Audi has made A3s for more than 20 years now, and needless to say, they're not all the same. But even knowing the model year isn't enough, because in any given model year, they were equipped with different HVAC controllers depending on things like engine and trim level.

It would be really wise to use the RTFB and WD component locations & to identify an actual component location, versus taking shit apart in the scrap yard to roll the diagnostic dice!

Open RTFB and then WD and search G143, familiarize yourself with component location and how it is wired.
Use DVOM and resistance decade box to authenticate the tracks using VCDS by blocks being observed as Uwe aforementioned.
If needed replace the G143 or repair wiring/change controller as required.
In meantime you move vent door manually to achieve function during hot weather and or authenticate the mechanical's are not the issue too or by obstructions from FOD.

OK, so it's not being requested to shut off the compressor, and you have some pressure. My guess: Bad compressor pulley. Pulley spinning, but compressor internals are not.

I don't think the two are related. A malfunction in the recirc flap shouldn't cause a complete lack of cold air in any case.
