I'm trying to find more information on this fault. I know I have seen a chart that explains the [104] before, but I'm finding little information on the 4113 fault.
Car comes in last week with the fault and a concern for having a hesitation in stop and go traffic when he goes to accelerate. I drive it and am able to repeat the concern. I scope the cam sensor and it's dropping out completely while it's running. Replace the cam sensor and the hesitation is gone, but the fault code remains.
I scope it again and find a split second drop out in the signal and then it picks back up. There is no timing change when this happens. I caught the drop out during an acceleration period at about 1370 rpm, and it's pretty random, although it happens often.

I looked up the fault in my autoscans and turns out I do have a friend who had the exact same fault with his 2011 Q5. The dealer did a bunch of work when it was in for an oil consumption recall, including replacing the intake cam. I'm trying hard not to condemn the camshaft because to me it looks like an electrical fault.
So I'm wondering if anyone has any more ideas on things I can test before recommending a camshaft!
