Is it possible to remove the logs from the service menu? To get there hold MENU for 5 seconds then choose software/updates.
You will basically see a list of all updates made to the Discover Pro unit, including firmware, patches and map upgrades.

Can we use VCDS to reset this list somehow?

Can I ask why you would want to delete this list from your Discover Pro?

Because Im downgrading an update and the upgrade-entry wont go away. It creates confusion. No way to do this, Ross-tech developers?

Do we have any scan data showing exactly what "Discover Pro" you have?

Maybe this Basic Setting?
IDE08813-ENG117470 -- Formatting partitions of internal memory

There should be number of sub-choices with that:
; Navigation Data Base,
; Jukebox,
; Data base backup,
; GracenoteDB,
; Speech dialog system,
; Online Services,
; Logbook,
; Cover cache memory,
; Address book,
; Google Earth,
; Over The Air Update,

But I do not know if any of them will have the effect you desire, and if you play with this, it's entirely at your own risk.

How can I get root access? Can you help?

In IDE08813-ENG117470 -- Formatting partitions of internal memory - What is the "logbook" entry for?

The driver's logbook, I don't know if it is used outside of Germany, where it is named "Fahrtenbuch".
However I have never seen this function "in the wild" so I am not sure, if this even does anything.
