08 S4 Avant Auto to manual module recoding help needed

08 S4 Avant and we are removing the auto for a 6 speed manual.

The current ECU won't accept the coding from auto to 6 gang.

Will a 08 Manual ECU file example 8E2 910 560C flash into the current ECU 8E2 910 560 G ? I'm told the C version could be tweaked to load into G box, However some auto boxes brick when putting manual files in.

The car starts and in the steering wheel module I was able to turn off the Tip paddles. Cluster shows the push in clutch pedal to start message. The auto scan shows that it's still looking for the TCU.

Does the ABS module need a recoding as well? What about the Instrument cluster coding?

Or does the manual ECU file sort all of this?

First time swap on the B7, thank you for the help.

Hello,

The ECM [8E2 910 560 G] is for vehicles with Automatic transmissions only and will not accept the coding for the manual transmission.

Based on some research, the ECM [8E2 910 560 F] or [8E2 910 560 FX] should be the one you need. Please check with the manufacture's parts department to verify this information.

I believe the [8E2 910 560 C(X)] is for a 2007 and was dropped and replaced by the [8E2 910 560 F(X)]

Info based on engine code 'BHF' and PR-Code [7GA]



ABS coding should be changed to [0004901] (manual trans)

In the Instrument cluster, you will need to remove [00002] from the value stored in Adaptation channel [060] - CAN-Databus Powertrain (Installation List)

Then clear codes and see what comes back, post a new Auto-Scan if needed.
