Don't know what you do or how you do things... Using a non genuine version of Windows isn't that smart either ;)

Try by selecting the item you want to change from the pull-down menu instead of changing channel-number(s)...

41zn3dA.jpg
Ok...there!! i've fixed the non geuine windows that had nothing to do with the issue AT ALL so the genuine windows comment was basically your own irrelevant personal opinion.

and it's not a matter of me successfully accessing adaptation channel options with one adapter then forgetting how to do the exact same thing a few seconds later with the other adapter.

!!!!!!!!!!THIS IS MY ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!

hello everybody!

my friends older, cheaper AI adapter can access and make more changes than my newer, more expensive HEX-V2 adapter is able to do! WHY??!?!?!

i spoke to the swedish www.VCDS.se and told them, and they told me that the HEX should be better and access and change more S*IT than the AI adapter but it DON'T!

07-03-2019, 08:59 PM Uwe told me
Unfortunately it's s 4th of July week both guys who need to look at this are on vacation.
then never answered me again!

THATS my issue!!!

don't get sidetracked with personal opinions about my desktop background, the font i use when i'm typing, the batterylevel on my computer right now or some other irrelevant f*cking things!

it's simple!.. if YOU don't know, im not asking YOU!
i'm asking if SOMEBODY knows?!?! if someone actually knows, THATS the one person i'm asking..

thank you.

I'm having issue too with 8E platform and different Hex-NET and V2 devices.

I believe it being to due the issue this car diagnostic is built.
I dislike that high-end device like Hex-NET isn't able to access it correctly, but I do understand that main developent focus goes on newer models(ie...MQB) and that may be reason that some stuff may have been missed.

Same thing like when Vas-PC moved to ODIS. Older stuff had some bugs.

Hello Egon,

If you still have access to both interfaces please try the following:

HEX-USB+CAN or similar Legacy Interface (good baseline info):

[Options]
Change the Debug level from 0 to 1024
[Apply]
[Select]
[09-Cent. Elect.]
We know it will communicate with all of the channels so select a single channel, Read and wait for data to populate.
Exit the controller and [Exit] VCDS.

Please slide the files with .dlm extensions in the Debug folder into a new folder named HUC1024. By default that would be: C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug

Make sure the Debug folder is empty after completing the HEX-USB+CAN testing.

HEX-NET -or- HEX-V2:
Debugging needs to be performed with the USB wire (not wireless).

1) Repeat the Debug level 1024 instructions above. Make sure to read the same single channel. Please move the .dlm files into a folder called: HV21024

Again, make sure the Debug folder is empty after completing that sequence.

2) Change the Debug level from 0 to 1028

Repeat the original steps. Both .dlm and .edl files will be generated moving forward. Please move those into a folder named HV21028 so the Debug folder is empty.

3) The last debug level in VCDS is 1044. We would want to repeat the VCDS steps saving .dlm and .edl files to a new folder called HV21044.

Zipping all of those up and sending them to support via e-mail would give us the most comprehensive set of files to use to find the bug without a car present.

If you don't have time for all of those steps please get 1024s using each interface which will give us a starting point.

I'm now having similar issue with A6. Not sure if related or not, but I've sent debugs to support.

I'm having a Audi A4 B6/B7 in the shop where I can make a Hex-NET debug from in few days. Need to fix CKP sensor and water leak issues first to have a good reference scan....

Well to get some closure to this thread.
I've got a used AI adapter and all my problems regarding these issiues magically resolved themselves!

Good luck to the rest of you.

Cant get address 09 to take VIN

Sorry to rehash a thread, but I have searched and I have not actually found an answer.

I purchased a 2003 A4 Wagon with some issues. I narrowed most of it down to the gasket under the ECM housing was not in place (I also checked the drains in the plenum) and water had dumped into foot-well, CECM, and all the a-pillar connections. The floor padding/foam was soaked but the CCCM in the box was dry. I took a few days to dry everything out. The CECM (8E0 907 279 E) had corrosion inside it. a few of the pins in the t-20/t-13 connections in the a-pillar were corroded as well. I cleaned up a bunch of the connections but I still will need to bypass a few of the connections to correct some of the open to short, open to ground issues.

The previous owner had the ABS module replaced I believe because the module was not coded correctly for the car. I recoded that properly and have done some things here and there. They also swapped out the steering wheel, which sucks, I would rather have the MFSW, so I had to recode that for the 3 spoke wheel that is on the car.

I called up VW and they said the proper part now for my VIN is the 8E0 907 279 F. I grabbed one from eBay and I installed it. I coded it properly, but I can't get it to take my VIN. I can't even get my old one to take my VIN (what I mean is I can't get to the adaptation to read, test, save) for either CECM.

Some addresses I can adapt things, other ones, I again have the same issue with the "read" not returning a value (even though I can read the 081 group via the measuring block, but when I read them in the adaptation, nothing happens and the "new value" is solid).

Hex-V2 purchased directly from you guys, latest firmware, software.
Below is the auto-scan with the "new" CECM:

Here are screengrabs of what I see when I try to do the adaptation in address 09 in the "original" E version:

Your first three picture links produce a "404 Not Found" error.

I think we got a handle on this problem recently. Stand by...

We may not have a proper solution until we get hands on a car that exhibits the problem, but do try what he did.

-Uwe-

Will do. Also I did try using a different laptop with a fresh install of VCDS before posting here with no luck. It was also a win 10x64 laptop. I will post again when I have the debug files.

Also,

I noticed this behavior as well that the other guy mentioned in the other thread. In some of the measuring blocks, I get data, and then alternately I get "Data for Group XXX Not Available" here and there.

Could this be a USB3/3.1 issue? The computer is ready for data way faster than the car is able to send it, and when it doesn't get it, it just gives up?

I just sent you guys the debug file for address 09 as requested. I also included the log as well as two screenshots.

After reading the other thread I tried two things with the same exact result. One set of attempts I plugged a USB2 hub into my USB3 (my laptop has one USB3, two USB-Cs), the other attempt the HEX-V2 was directly connected to the USB3 port via the ross-tech cable.
I decided to try clicking multiple times & multiple intervals to see if anything different would happen. In my first attempt, I also ran it through a USB2 hub, and when I clicked five times rather quickly, I was able to enter a new value. This is shown in one of the screenshots I emailed you guys with the log and debug file. After a few tries of this, I could also test and save. This is shown in the second screenshot in the email.

I click "read" five times fast and it reads, yay!
I get to enter the new value, yay!
I get to test it, yay!:o
I get to save it, yay!:)
I confirm I'm saving it, yay!:D
The log says I adapted it, yay!
I check channel 81, boo!
The VIN didn't change, cry.:banghead:

Thanks for the feedback and Scan/Debug files via e-mail.

This is a long shot but you might want to try increasing the default Blk Int from 55 to 100 (or 150) on the VCDS Program Options screen followed by Apply and repeating Adp 081 in address 09. With any luck that gets you over the hump so the VIN will transfer.

Side note, using Apply should revert back to defaults when you close and restart VCDS but Save would keep the alternative values even after restarting VCDS. If a higher Blk Int happens to resolve this Adp problem, you notice that MVBs are more stable and/or future Auto-Scans happen to show all 4 subsystems under address 46 (instead of 1.5 per the emailed scan) you may want to Save it. There's a [Restore Defaults] button that you can use in the event that it causes new problems later.

SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!

increase the default Blk Int from 55 to 150 on the VCDS Program Options screen followed by "save" and repeating Adp 081 in address 09

:thanks::cool:

There is no Guul, only Dana.

I am 99% sure the remaining issues are corroded contacts in the terminals on the a-pillar. I will check the wiring diagrams I have found so I know which wires to splice and be done with all the codes! (Then all that's left is the upper control arms...but that is for a different forum)

If a higher Blk Int happens to resolve this Adp problem, you notice that MVBs are more stable and/or future Auto-Scans happen to show all 4 subsystems under address 46 (instead of 1.5 per the emailed scan)

So at 150 (im pretty sure) I get the 1 subsystem

I get this at 100.

and well, the first scan with 1.5 was what I got at 55.

I went through every scan I had. with the Audi a4, 2003 b6 3.0 V6/30v 6MT Quattro wagon (everything in this thread) I never showed 4 subsystems.
I have one scan of a Passat glx wagon, 2002 b5.5 2.8L V6/20v AT 4Mo, and that has all 4 systems.

would the Audi not showing all 4 subsystems be a comms issue or a CCCM issue with not showing 4 subsystems?

What direction should be I playing with the "blk int" or is there other stuff I should log/debug and send you guys?
