Hello,
I was asked to assist on a '95 A8 V8 petrol. Has been sat idly for a few months and now won't fire up.
Read fault codes and it's got an issue with pick up coil and wiring most likely, was going to try and re-match transponders just in case. Opened the immo box and read the 94c46, so I've got the login code. Box accepts the code but it keeps dropping the connection (you can hear something clicking away, the same note it makes when VCDS first connects), connection is flakey even without logging in and going into measuring blocks (recognises keys etc - first three values in measuring block 01 are 1).
Is this likely just an issue with battery voltage or should the garage be looking somewhere else (did tell them to replace the coil and wiring)?
Car was connected to a booster battery.
