Hi All,
Just wanted to share something that I ran into yesterday in case it assists anyone else.
AD1 Tiguan 2016.
Battery was disconnected for 5mins during some maintenance on the sunroof. (no basic settings).
After the sunroof basic settings were completed, noticed that a bunch of other faults didn't clear, and they were all because the steering angle sensor was not initialized. Not a big deal I thought, just run steering angle sensor calibration....however the fault was not the usual missing basic settings fault, it was this one:
I wasn't able to complete the initialization (no security access in VCDS) and running the basic settings G85 in OhDis likewise would not complete.
Decided to call it a night after multiple repeat attempts, short test drives, ignition cycles etc and try again in the morning.
The fault remained for the drive home (about an hour) however this morning the fault has now cleared.
So it seems the sensor just needed a little nap
