This started as simply trying to add DRL on/off to the MFI screen on the instrument cluster. I must have triggered or shut off something else as now I have the selection in the MFI, but I cannot change the selection to 'off' nor do the DRL's come on at all under any cirumstance. This was not a retrofit, it is an Autobahn package with factory xenon and Led's. I tried long coding back to earlier coding that worked, but to no avail.
2014 Jetta GLI Autobahn, Dsg, Gen3 ea888. Mods, although all unrelated to the DRL's are catted high flow downpipe, RS7 spark plugs, RS3 ignition coils, Unitronic Stage 2.

So I used the CodingLog to work backwards. What I found was that address 19 has coding entered that is very different that was was shown in the log. Address 19 currently shows 351002, but the CodingLog show the original as ED817F067006130300. In fact, it doesen't even resemble the original change I made to that address:

There are two kinds of coding for Address 19: The actual coding, and then the Gateway Installation list. In the earliest Gateways, there were all together in one place/string; that's not the case anymore. So no, 351002 and ED817F067006130300 are two different things.

In any case, I'm pretty sure your problems are in 09, not 19.

What you have to understand is that byte 18 in 09 doesn't work quite like most codings. It's just plain weird, especially if it originally contained 00. If you change it to something else and then put it back to 00, the module's behavior almost certainly won't be what it was originally. Hopefully someone can give you a value for byte 18 that will work and fix that problem, but I'm not that someone.

To make sure I am understanding correctly. Byte 18 is actually what is shown below in the drop down, as in Jetta ROW not just the 00 that is shown in the upper coding. I ran a scan of the address 09, I did notice the workshop code changed. I remember when I was in address 09 it asked me if I wanted to use the "12345" I figured that had to do with the change I made for the DRL. It must have been something else. The original workshop code was "Shop #: WSC 00066 000 00000"

When using long coding helper, when byte 18 is selected, it has a warning in red below stating not to change the setting (which I must have done). Below that is a tab where you can select different vw models and their variant. Mine was 00 eprom in the selection. I changed it to 06 Jetta NAR and all codes cleared except two for the front parking lights (and no drl). I think I need to be smart about this, take the car to the dealer and let them recode it from the vin.
