VCDS 19.6 firmware update - repeated system error

Just updated desktop vcds for my hex-net to 19.6, during testing interface it states the hex-net needs a firmware update, when I attempt to check for upgrades using hex-net using hex mobile - all I get is an internal server error, try again but that's just an infinite loop of errors. I test network ping, ave ping response 41.8 ms quality excellent, port 11011 ok. I tried to upgrade using vcds config but that does not upgrade fw.

First attempt was done while hex net plugged into vw and that failed.

Attached hex-net to laptop with usb and was able to get all of the software updated using vcds config but I had to swap back and forth between beta and release channel to get CB and Rods updated. Anyway the hex net is working but I still can't check for updates using hex net mobile server, all I get is internal server error. Any thoughts on how to resolve that would be appreciated.

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.
