Thanks guys. Since this 8X0 module is clearly functional in a VW I'll update the 8X0-953-569.clb file so it includes options only found in 5K0-953-569.clb at this time.

Please also add cruise via mfsw and acc via mfsw to 5k0-953-569.clb label file.

    Hi Magnus,

Now that you mention it, I left this line commented out (meaning it won't show in the lbl based LCH) of 8X0-953-569:
;LC,02,4~7,80,Cruise Control controlled via Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

If you are confident that this 8X0 series module supports that coding config I'll add it!

Next, 5K0-953-569.lbl also has that ACC config commented out so I can edit that file as well if you believe that's best. Edit, 5K0-953-569 looks like this now:

I'm not aware of byte 80 being used for ACC, but if this is so, then okay. Is there any scans where this can be observed?

But there are some things I want to discuss. Like the 3c0-953-569.clb and then 5k0-953-569.clb. I get that the label file is chosen per Software Part number, but there is plausibility error. All 3c0 SW controllers are HW 5k0.... . This SW 3c0... is then superseeded to separate details like stalks and SWCM. If we replace SWCM alone, it always superseedes to such where SW and HW are identical.

    Example:
    Code:
    Address 16: Steering wheel (J527) Labels:| 5K0-953-569.clb
       Part No SW: 5K0 953 569 AS HW: 5K0 953 569 AS
       Component: LENKS.MODUL 016 0180
       Revision: --X01--- Serial number: 20151016301545
       Coding: 299AA50001
       Shop #: WSC 01286 386 08256
       ASAM Dataset: EV_VW360SteerWheelUDS A03004
       ROD: EV_VW360SteerWheelUDS.rod
       VCID: 895ACFDD2895C90201-80DC

       Multifunction steering wheel control module:
       Subsystem 1 - Part No SW: 3C8 959 537 D HW: 3C8 959 537 D Labels: 3C8-959-537.CLB
       Component: E221__MFL-TK6 H06 0022
       Serial number: 50000000000000492358
       Coding: E30000

    No fault code found.
This is from a 2013 RoW Passat B7. It had previously 3c0... SWCM. As You can see, 5k0... label file is chosen.

Now then there is the same HW, but factory SWCM.
    Code:
    Address 16: Steering wheel (J527) Labels:| 3C0-953-569.clb
       Part No SW: 3C9 953 501 CN HW: 5K0 953 569 AS
       Component: LENKS.MODUL 016 0180
       Revision: FF010042 Serial number: 20131203100144
       Coding: 399AA50001
       Shop #: WSC 00015 115 00001
       ASAM Dataset: EV_VW360SteerWheelUDS A03004
       ROD: EV_VW360SteerWheelUDS.rod
       VCID: 77BEE0E3CE9852F0FA-8022

       Multifunction steering wheel control module:
       Subsystem 1 - Part No SW: 5K0 959 542 B HW: 5K0 959 542 B Labels: 3C8-959-537.CLB
       Component: E221__MFL-TAS H30 0032
       Serial number: 0017284
       Coding: 830000

    No fault code found.
Here is 3c0 label file chosen.

Wouldn't be big deal, but 5K0 doesn't have the info about ACC via stalk:
LC,02,4~7,A0,Cruise Control controlled with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

For 5k0 label file I also have a suggestion:
LC,02,4~7,C0,Cruise Control controlled via Multi-Function-Steering-Wheel (MFSW) with ACC
This can be seen here, it's a 2018 Caddy with Adaptive Cruise Control.
    Code:
    Address 16: Steering wheel (J527) Labels:| 5K0-953-569.clb
       Part No SW: 5K0 953 521 GE HW: 5K0 953 569 BF
       Component: LENKS.MODUL 018 0230
       Revision: FF010042 Serial number: 20180528200168
       Coding: 1082C60008
       Shop #: WSC 35110 790 50316
       ASAM Dataset: EV_SMLSNGVOLWSR8C 001001
       ROD: EV_SMLSNGVOLWSR8C.rod
       VCID: 75A2EAEBD49420E7B2-8020

       Multifunction steering wheel control module:
       Subsystem 1 - Part No SW: 2K0 959 442 A HW: 2K0 959 442 A Labels: 3C8-959-537.CLB
       Component: E221__MFL-TAT H06 0023
       Serial number: 1341821014401916BC1B
       Coding: 2C0000

    No fault code found.
I have full scans from all mentioned cars if needed to confirm.

I'm with golfi_vend on this. When i retrofitted the golf 7 style wheel on my passat, half the options were missing on the label file 3c0-953-569.clb when the hardware is 5k0. I resorted to using a custom label file so i could actually code the module correctly, in a manner it supported

Thanks for the feedback. I don't believe the new label files will make it to the next VCDS version but we should have all 3 updated early next week.

Edit. I wanted to report back.

    1) After further research I could not locate an example of ;LC,02,4~7,80,Cruise Control controlled via Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Because I added it due to this thread, but believe it is incorrect, I removed it (; commented it out) from the 5K0-953-569 label. That is included in the ROD file Experimental coding chart so it isn't entirely hidden from all users and we may find a use for it one day.

    2) I added both of these to 5K0-953-569, 8X0-953-569 and 3C0-953-569:

LC,02,4~7,A0,Cruise Control controlled via Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
LC,02,4~7,C0,Cruise Control controlled via Multi-Function-Steering-Wheel (MFSW) with ACC

That may not be necessary for 8X0-953-569 but I made all 3 the same in this area. If we receive reports that one or both of those selections aren't supported with an 8X0 module we can simply remove them in the future.

    3) I added the following to 3C0-953-569:
    LC,04,3,Multi-Function-Steering-Wheel (MFSW) for MQB-Platform installed

That should cover rhinopower's MK7 style wheel with 3C0 module moving forward.
