Hi

I have an Audi TT 8N (non Bose) but with handsfree preparation, not the bluetooth one but the wired one.. (yeah that one with the old cradle for Nokia/Motorola etc....).

The problem is that every time i just connect the Nokia phone (without being on a call) , radio mutes and not responding when i press buttons etc and i cannot even a call no sound.... and i only see "TELEFON" on headunit and DIS on clusters.

I think it should work as follows... keep it connected and when receives a call, then mutes the radio and hear from speakers (which one should it be i don't know..)

I also notice that on coding there is not reference regarding Telephone setting apart from Bose system which i don't have :/

Any help please?

Those old radios are a POS, the buttons wear cosmetically and mechanically/electronically and replacements with new BT settings are far better with nice filters & advisable ultimately because cheaper!

Clean install like this and folding mechanism.

With the radio, MVB group 004.4 shows the telephone mute status. My guess is the phone cradle is messed up and when you dock a phone, to goes to mute when it shouldn't.

<Toggle Jack mode = ON>
<Toggle Jack mode = OFF>

I suspect Jack is on the right path in that you have a hardware failure.

:D

Yeah me too until the RNS and OEM radios just became too much trouble for cost when seeing the bling bling for peanuts + additional functions, I had to see if it was bullshit!

I installed a 7 inch touch screen with WIFI & NAV + BT + DVD player I never watch other than to see that it worked when I installed it about a year ago and even the other day I smiled when my wiper fluid was deliberately used up because I wanted to install fresh when I got home and the dam info screen popped up with a diagnostic screen telling me I had an MMI I didn't even realize now in an ALH Jetta.

.....no drilling holes and SAT + antenna read right inside dash & multi-function on CAN talks to everything.

I would say it shouldn't be dismissed!

Thanks.
Sorry, confused, does the MVB group 004.4 show the telephone mute status or the intake air temperature?

So if I understand this correctly, 4 years, 2 months and 12 days onward, you still have the same phone that gets cradled?

Does the Mute Status ever change as you mess with the phone? I'll check back in here on November 4, 2027. :p
