I'll repost what I've written elsewhere, as it sums up what I'm experiencing:

I've searched high and low, and unfortunately, I somehow either didn't preserve my default coding for the ABS module or mucked it up somehow.

Using the VCDS documentation (waiting on my account on the Ross Tech forum to be activated) and several web resources, I'm attempting to enable the Passive TPMS on my 2006 A3 S-Line with 18" wheels and the MK60 ABS controller. I followed the excellent tutorial at OOOO-A3's weblog, but the thing that's missing in the engine coding value to sum the correct value for my 3.2l VR6-equipped car.

The formula should be something like:
Vehicle Model Code
+Front Brake PR Code
+Suspension Type
+Engine Code
+TPMS PR Code value (7K0 PR Code)
Sum is passive TPMS disabled.

My understanding is that I should be able to subtract the value of the 7K0 PR code and get Passive TPMS. Except when I enter that value (0004738) I simply get a blinking TPMS warning - I think it's because all the examples of coding I've found are for the four-cylinder engine, and I accidentally waxed my original coding, so I can't subtract the 7K0 value from it.

I've verified the MK60 ABS unit, brake code, and suspension type on my PR sticker; how do I find the default coding for the 3.2l VR6 to sum the correct coding that will enable my passive TPMS?

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll check that out a little later and report back.

Why doesn't the coding sum change depending on the engine? Is coding for all gasoline engines 2048? (edit: meant to type 4096)

I've got 1LJ front Brakes with the new cluster (+000002), UA9 suspension (+0000640) so it looks like the correct code (with +0004096 engine) is still 0021122. This is why I'm a bit stymied.

If you would read this line, it states alla Automatic transmissions, so maybe thats why ;)
+0004096 = 1.9l TDI PD / 2.0l FSI / 2.0l SDI PD & All with Automatic Transmission

Oh, hell. Thank you. I'll go away now. :-) Despite my mis-quote above, my sum is still 21122, and entering that number minus 16384 still gives me a coding that causes my TPMS light to blink. Resetting it via VCDS has no effect. I'll try the other two codes you offered, and appreciate your time.

I tried all three codes with ignition cycle between; the result was the same for 4738; 4737 and 4744 both caused ESP/ABS lights with TPMS enabled. 4738 enabled TPMS but caused a blinking TPMS with no fault given.
