Audi A3 8P TDI: 005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation

Can't seem to clear this fault code. I looked through the wiki and looked at channels 42, 43, 44, 45 and 49. I updated the some channels to 160 for USA but the rest looked OK according to the pop-up help on VCDS. I then ran a SRI, turn the key off and on. The code is still there. I try to clear it, but then the same code pops up with the newer time stamp.

Since I am in the USA and it's a diesel, I have no idea what the proper values should be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It was bought from VW/Audi after they fixed the diesel emissions 2 weeks ago by the dealer and I bought it yesterday.

So take to dealer isn't it under extended warranty or flat out purchase warranty?

Doesn't the MIL reside in a non working or non operational or ADP of cluster for related AECD's and require a clear understanding when in fault?

The VW/Audi extended warranty only covers engine/emissions components. Plus, there is a $50 deductible. I suspect the instrument panel is not part of the engine/emissions component and it's long past the bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Engine light was not on. I'm not sure what you mean by the rest of the sentence.

There is no MIL. Code only comes up during Autoscan.

Your values look OK to me.

Try "Change to fixed Intervals (Rest of World)" from the "Operation" pull-down and see if that helps. You must click [Perform SRI] after you do that for the changes to actually be written. You can flip it back to "Change to fixed Intervals (USA)" if it doesn't help.

Consideration should be made before messing with SRI that is for another Emissions tier, no?
Since those adaptions are related to an AECD or monitoring to comport with recommended maintenance are they not under useful life warranty if in deficiency or DTC for adaptation?

No, because it's nothing but a dang reminder, and that fault code indicates the cluster believes some channels are "out of sorts".

Yes and isn't that discretion left to the self regulating manufacturer, further using good engineering judgement when writing or dissemination of a required RTFB or service book to perform required maintenance or reminders to maintain a warranty and the required useful life of an AECD and is what is typically used by an OEM if not performed as a basis to void such a warranty?

The cluster does not have a fault that is in any way emissions-related, nor would the fault prevent emissions-related faults or warnings from showing up, nor would it even prevent service reminders from being displayed, nor would this fault be visible to any generic OBD-II scan tool. So no, I don't think it's under the usefult life warranty.

Yeah but how is it any different than when the immobilizer resides in a cluster & If its part of it and the MIL resides there and it required an adaptation or any related function for that component, it is required to be under useful life warranty or disseminated functions, right?
Those adaptions are directly related to care or recommendations in the RTFB or service book no?
VW tried that same angle in beginning with immobilizer generations saying it isn't related because if car isn't running it doest produce SMOG & it was shot down resulting in things like NASTF and the IRF program.
