Good Morning,
Troubleshooting (or maybe just throwing hail marry parts in an attempt to "get lucky") 2006 Audi 2.0T
Started without VCDS and only OBDII-- showed cylinder 303/304 codes
Vac is a steady 15
>>Comp Test all were between 175/170
>>Smoke Test revealed no leaks, checked both sides of PCV.
>> Carbon cleaning and new intake manifold gasket
>>Replaced coils and plugs
>>Fuel PSI was good used old fashion gauge...- but replaced fuel filter.
>>N80 seems to allow about 0-5 sometimes 5-10hg through-- no vac when power removed
>> Put Fork in toaster still no luck.
>> replaced injectors, and o rings, with "bench cleaned" and check R 1.4 - no change in misfire
>>Vac is steady 15 @ idle
>>Battery replaced with H8, 900CCA :)

Purchased VCDS- "Hoping to find maybe another code like a P0171 would have been nice :)..lol
Only Misfire codes-- "#3 at idle ~7-10 and cylinder 2 is always zero". Once I touch the throttle-- zero misfires display

At this point I suspect the wiring/the ECU because There are no other fault codes, or pulling the head to see whats inside... Car is "off the road" so plenty of time to play.

Purchased VCDS- "Hoping to find maybe another code like a P0171 would have been nice ..lol
Only Misfire codes-- "#3 at idle ~7-10 and cylinder 2 is always zero". Once I touch the throttle-- zero misfires display

Have you done the cylinder compression test..........?

Yes- but only a dry test as all cylinders were 170-175- What I didn't do is a proper leak down test though >shame on me now- And I'm probably just distracted learning the new VCDS toy :) I guess not all metallurgical issues went away with the Saab 900...

Today when when I started it up, it was cold and wet outside- it only misfired ~56 times on cylinder 4 and zero on 1-3 -> but no new fault codes...rrr.. after it ran a bit #4 dropped and #3 showed misfires
I was able to take this datalog
I didn't see any option for injector duty cycle- so maybe its called something else?
Thanks for your patience.

Go to Wal-Mart and purchase some tacky pair of yoga pants. Now drive to any Chick-fil-A, USA during lunch hour. Toss the yoga pants into the ball pit... this will cause all the mothers to jump into the ball pit to fight over who gets another pair of yoga pants... while the mothers are distracted, grab a standard issue 4 year old toddler and hold said kid over your engine while it is at idle. Can the kid remove the oil cap while the engine is at idle? If not, then you may have a bad CVV. This can cause excessive vacuum at the crank case and suck the oil cap down making it 4 year old toddler proof during idle.

Fuel trim numbers from group 032 after a test drive and +5 minute idle, please post those values.

Regards.

I 2nd Jeff let car idle and try to remove oil filer cap.
Idle will change that is normal.
Want to know if cap is sucked on too tight?
Also Fuel trim numbers from group 032 after a test drive and +5 minute idle, please post those values at both idle and part load.

Good Luck

Dude just the basics.
What are fuel trims in measuring block 032 BOTH at idle and at part load. Field 1&2. After a test drive and letting idle 5 min after test drive.
What about the oil filer cap removal while idling?

Good Luck
