Hello,

I have been trying to tweak the way my Tiguan (AX) radio turns off for a while now.
It turns off when the engine is turned off.
Most other cars turn off the radio when the keys are removed.

I read about a virtual terminal 15 on the CAN bus and the real terminal 15.
I guess that if the real terminal 15 is connected to the radio, it will turn it off regardless of any coding.

Is there any way to determine from the coding if it is software controlled or hardwired?

If there is, I will gladly post an auto scan.

Thank you very much.

Since I happen to have a 2013 Tiguan sitting outside, I just checked. Yep, it turns off when you turn the key off. The radio in it is an RNS315-NAR. I don't see anything documented that would change this behavior. The only other likely places are the BCM and the Gateway, and I don't see anything there either.

In RoW models, removing the key usually turns the radio off. I wonder if this is NAR specific behaviour because in both the radio only has physical terminal 30 and shutoff should come via CAN.
