Hi,

I had battery issues for months, I now tested that I lose around 0,30Amp on the Air Suspension "Fuze" when car is OFF.

Is there something specific I should check from there? Should it be coming form the computer module or the air shock itself?

Hello,

The controller that you are checking may not be fully asleep yet. Are you sure this is the fuse for the level Controller? You can use the Official Factory repair manuals and wiring diagrams to trace back the components on that specific fuse.

I also recommend to have a look at this Volkswagen technical bulletin, Parasitic draw testing through fuse panel VW technical bulletin 270711

This technical bulletin will outline the proper way to accurately measure for parasitic draws on these vehicles. One very important thing this document mentions is the recommend TWO Hour wait period that is needed for ALL the controllers to go to sleep.

Observe sleep state current draw after vehicle is left untouched for TWO HOURS

Also post an Auto-Scan if possible, this can help when searching for updates and other information about the vehicle and it's controllers.

Hope this helps,

drpeter

Thanks for your help.

I did'nt wait for 2 hours but 20 minutes. that was the time when all but that fuze were down. I indeed tested the old fashion way. Wait 2 hours also, mean I need to leave my ohmmeter ON for 2 hour while connected between ground and BAT -.

The Volkswagen technical bulletin is very informative. I did'nt know about the other way of testing from the fuze. Funny to read we need to keep the door closed and test the fuze. Is it enough to keep the door open but manually lock the door locking module to simulate it's closed?

Either way to test, I am pretty confident that I have this leak anyway. But still will not be sure how to find the origin of the leak.

Hi,
Here is my AutoScan. Any idea to diagnose the exact cause of the current leak?
Thanks!

Hello,

Here is my AutoScan. Any idea to diagnose the exact cause of the current leak?

Yes, there are four steps listed in the TSB that explain what to do next.

Identification of component:

1.Once fused circuit is identified, use service repair and wiring diagram information in ElsaWeb to identify all components on circuit
2.Disconnect components from the circuit one by one and allow sleep current to stabilize after each elimination.
3.Measure vehicle current consumption and voltage drop across fuse once again. If with in normal range, as specified in the table (see Current Consumption Matrix attachment), the component with excessive consumption is identified.
4.Repeat steps above until component is identified causing excessive current draw.
