    Golf 5 2008 Immo Issues

    Greetings,

I have an Golf 5 2008, 1.9 TDI, and it seems that since I get it from the previous owner I had a ton of issues with it, I fixed most of them but still few remained .

The issue on the contact , I have no idea what it is, I opened the contact, clean it , see if there is any issue, nothing so far, after I remove it and clean it all was ok, then after a while when I scan it again it appeared.

Regarding the Immobilizer it seems that there is an issue with it and if I try to reset it it keeps on coming , if o go to stats and see if there is any problem with it it says that all is ok and there is not issue with it and it is functioning fine.

The last issue, it seems that when I got the car , there were registered 3 keys, me I have just one with remote and one without remote and when I put that one in I get IMMO error , so I guess it is just a dummy one to open the lock but has no chip inside or it was not registered.

Now , is there a way to delete all the keys and to re-register only the key I have ? so that I don't wake up that in one day my car is gone as the previous keys could be used, and what do I need for that ? I don't have any code or key code or pin it came just with the key and that's it, as far as I know it requires some factory pin or something like that.

    Thanks .

There are two separate things with keys for this car:

    1) The immo transponder. This determines whether the immo will allow the engine to start and run.

    2) The Remote. For your car, this is a totally separate thing, and it interacts with the Central Convenience system at address 46 (which is missing because you only posted snippets of your scan).

VCDS can delete and match remotes, but not the immobilizer transponders in your car.

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

    Thanks Uwe,

I just updated the scan, I said that I should post only what I need but if it helps I added that as well.

So if I understood well, that Immo transponder is the one close to the key contact ? or it will be found in the cluster in my case ? as I try to understand where is the issue, if I need to change the cluster or something else. in order to have this issue removed. So far car is ok so I don't worry to much but those errors annoy me.

Regarding the keys, do I need that Pin / code in order to remove them all and add only what I have or I can doit directly from address 46 ?

    Thanks again.

    Aurelian.

You do not need a PIN to clear or match remotes to the Central Convenience System. See here.

A PIN is not sufficient to match immo transponders. It uses Immo 4c, which requires a challenge/response mechanism instead of just a PIN. The challenge changes with every cycle of the ignition, and even the dealer's scan tool doesn't have the ability to generate the requisite response from the challenge; that's done on VW's corporate servers.
