Please post an autoscan so that people know what modules and suchlike your vehicle has.

Your particular situation may not be the same as someone else. Linking to their thread is little help.

Yet still the problem remains.... No Autoscan.

Please post an autoscan so that people know what modules and suchlike your vehicle has.

You're unlikely to gain any assistance until the simple task outlined is completed.

You should update your VCDS software, it's a bit out of date.

This thread is in the section for people who use pirate versions of the vcds system. If you have a genuine vcds cable and software then you could start a new thread in the New Users section and include an autoscan.

Edit: I can see now that you're a verified user so perhaps there's a better section for your new thread, again include an autoscan.

Same problem here after a complete xenon retrofit on a B8.5 2013 Avant. I changed the BCM1 with the DH one, OEM xenon headlights, and installed the auto-level sensor in the rear left of the car as specified in Etka. After the retrofit, the xenon lamps are working correctly but everytime I start the engine, I receive the error “ Headlight range control defective” with no specific error in VCDS on the 09 Central Electric, just the “01312- Powertrain data bus”. I think it has something to do with the codings. I noticed that the headlights does not perform the self-test (up and down max limits) when I start the engine as it supposed to do, they only do this test when I try to reset the 01312 error. The error appears again instantly after reset.

Please help!

I will return with a full scan in a few hours.

Thank you in advance,

Razvan

Hello Razvan,

This thread is in the Hall of Shame for the reasons Viking mentioned above. For that reason assistance will not be provided here. Please see this thread to determine what's necessary to get registered for support and become a Verified VCDS User in our forum:

https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?2601-How-to-get-Verified

After doing so you can create a new thread in the Retrofits section with the before and after BCM1 replacement Auto-Scans.
