Why they don’t want to calibrate? Official workshop have all the means and training to do it. Just tell them that the camera just lost it’s calibration, don’t tell them it’s retrofitted. They think it’s jinxed after you tell them :)

It should be possible to do by yourself by having a print shop print you the board in right size. Then position it correctly and run calibration.
Doing it with VCDS, maybe not. Using ODIS, yes deflnitely.

I'd love to!!! I'll search for a B'nB and I come soon:p
I hope it's just a question of time to put this board at the right place... and run VCDS A5 basic setting.

Because it is from a different car, the vin in the camera wont match the car. It is done with ODIS and GFF. Car has to be in the correct position in relation to the calibration screen. Measurements are entered for each wheel arch to the floor, and input as you go along. Once ODIS is happy you have calibrated correctly the VIN is updated and everything fixed

Gentlemen, I really can't condone discussion of cloned/pirated products here, not even ODIS.

I understand but I don't know ODIS, I thought VCDS could provide full access to VAG car. As ODIS seems to be unbuyable, I'm really asking how I'll manage to calibrate the camera???:banghead:
Yoda said "No clone here!" young Padawan... so how will the force be with me to calibrate the camera?

If I could, sure I will!!! Now it's no longer a question of money. A society can do it for 550€ (both ACC and camera) with a complete support, not the vehicule on the ground. But it's about four hours driving to get there... hmmmm

550€? That is a realllly steep price...and with a long drive? Where in France are you, if I may ask?

It’s expensive. In Finland (and we are very expensive country) it’s 300€ for camera and acc both and they do full wheel alignment.

I have now wires coming from the windscreen through the roof and dash board. T17 9 and 11 pin's and ground are connected. I'll connect t20 pin's to can gateway this weekend. I would lije to connect + to the sc36 or 37 fuse but I don't manage to reach the hole behind the fuse board. How did you do it?
And please Symb, how did you pull out this evil's double clip on A column? I do as you said and it came, no problem... but now I want to replace the column...
Many thanks for the answers.
PS: I'll post some good photos to complete this great tutorial;)

I dismantled the clip and assembled it back to the trim piece so I could just plug it back in.

Yes yes, single connector works just fine. I thought you were going to use piggyback fuse :)

And I disagree on the can module Maybe I’m getting old but unplugging and dismantling the connector, soldering wires to the existing wires and all this laying on your back in inhuman position, soldering in a very tight and dark place No thank you anymore. Done that enough

Anyway, we are maybe diverting from the topic a bit.

Aww, come on now, it wasn't THAT bad.

So, I just have to plug ACC sensor. I made a fuse connector to test it now.
Here is the scan after enabling A5 in Can gateway 19.

Remember that when calibrating:

0768 - No Basic Setting
B2010 00 [009] - -

Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

This is the only allowed active fault at the A5 module.

Oh it's not a secret:D! I live near Luxemburg. The society who can do calibration is in Auxerre. I agree with you, it's expensive.

Any luck with your calibration? Did you change the windscreen or do you have some DIY solution for the camera?
I partially understand the dealer's POV if latter.

Hello,
The new windscreen is ordered and the local bodybuilder will do the job.
For calibration, I'll do it in my garage... it'll take a long long time with many head scratchings! VW Luxemburg also didn't want to calibrate camera... "What a wonderful world"

The target is printed on Tivek to be re-usable. A friend made a target with solidworks at 1:1 scale to avoid any precision trouble. It cost 90€ but it's a real professionnal work.

Anybody can tell me how to do with VCDS? I looked at "basic settings" for A5 module and saw "searching target", I think it's the first thing to do but after that???

All over the net I found this on every systems (VCDS, ODIS, OBD11...)
A5 controller
security access 20103
Basic settings
1. search target
2. initial online calibration
3. static calibration (customer service)
4. static calibration ( end of assembly line mode)

I'll try this when I'll have time but as NTech said "No idea, but if that should be an problem for VCDS, I guess it would also be a problem for odis. "

VCDS and ODIS work a bit differently here. For ODIS this is no problem with GFF (guided fault finding). VCDS does not have this kind of automated functionality which means you need to know the exact procedure and in exact order to have it done. And even that is not 100% sure it will be successful.

Remember that ODIS is a dealer workshop tool, VCDS is for us hobbyists.
