Hi all, I have a 2000 model golf 4 1.9 tdi. I have the ESP light on and the scan tells me it’s the G200 sensor. I changed this sensor but the light remains on. I think this is quite common but any help would be much appreciated. Vin is WVWZZZ1JZYW708137

Have you checked the wiring is intact?

I'll assume you didn't buy a brand new genuine Sensor...

It is a somewhat common problem and a used sensor is possibly faulty too. They also don't like being dropped... if it was posted to you...

People have opened them and repaired the dry joints... but you have to be very careful - it is a safety related item.

It was second hand but the seller seemed knowledgeable and has sold many of them. I checked the wiring but found nothing obvious, it’s a clean low mileage 1 owner car and there have been no repairs or fingers fiddling with anything previously

Per diagram # 13 / 5

Anti-locking brake system (ABS) with electronic differential lock (EDL), traction control system (TCS) and electronic stability program (ESP) from May 1999

G200 is a straight shot to the J104 (ABS module). Since the wires checked out OK you might want to compare the voltage supply and ground from J104 to to nearby G202 (Yaw rate sensor). If the supply voltage and ground readings are the same I somewhat doubt the ABS module is faulty.

In that case, a faulty used G200 per NZDubNurd's suggestion would be the best case scenario.
