rather than going to a third party "licensed professional", why should i not go straight to the dealer and have it squared away that way? i'm not fully understanding what you are trying to say.

to ask the same question in further detail. the guy in that thread had them fix the issue and was charged for such. according to you, this should be covered under the EPA/CARB warranty. how would i go about going straight to the dealer, without third party involvement, and have them diagnose and fix the issue, be in intank pump, HPFP, etc., and have it covered under said warranty? what literature would i need to stand on to ensure that they cover the cost of this repair?

HPP components and in tank FP components are indeed most likely listed as a comprehensive useful life warranty related item, are they not?

Not to be a dick but did you ever think if you would answer my questions & so I can try to accurately point to information for you to answer your aforementioned alleged own questions, it would be helpful in the process, versus you just asking vague questions expecting me to just know?

Indeed there are reasons I asked each question, wouldn't you think?

I would not be extremely concerned about that wear as long as the camshaft is OK. The in-tank (low side) pump would be more likely in my option.

Just make sure to replace the filter at the same time if you haven't already done so recently. If that's in-tank you'll get a new one with the replacement pump but I don't recall if this car has an external filter underneath that needs to be serviced separately.

One of these days I need to post all of that data in the Reference Scans and Maps of Non-Broken Cars section. On that note, you may be able to locate good baseline info from a CC in that section.

Either way, I believe IDE01893 Fuel pump: specified value 23.988 % is the in-tank on-time of the electric fuel pump. If that's correct, the older CAN protocol "below 70%" notes on our Wiki page may not apply to UDS modules. For example,those CAN modules ran in the mid 40's on a brand new car in group 106.

Did you read the document, what does it say? ......... :rolleyes:

If your MIL is ON and the car is under the miles or years of the useful life warranty and it is related to a listed AECD & that isn't required for a routine maintenance or if was & indeed was maintained such as an oil change for example & not damaged by outside influence, than isn't that respective system or component covered or any other failed component responsible for the failure of a listed AECD?
