    Yes, if the battery's specifications are the same (and it appears they are), then just changing a single digit in the serial number will tell the car that you've installed a new battery.

    The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

    I did change just one digit of the serial #. From original stored value “8K0915105D. MLA 101124OA1T”, I changed the serial# to 101125OA1T or 101124OA2T but neither changes work. The previous value still came up when I hit TEST.

    One thing I took note is that after the first change in the serial #, when I exit and went back to try again...the stored value block is empty.

    Just to clarify. The step I took were;

    Select
    Common
    19-CAN Gateway
    Function
    Cloud function
    Adaptation-10
    Battery Information/Replacement-4

    OK, we've been able confirm that there's something in VCDS-Mobile that's not working quite correctly with this.

    If you want an immediate fix, beg/borrow/steal a PC, install VCDS, and use that; it will work. If you're unable or unwilling to do that, I'm confident we'll get a fix for VCDS-Mobile implemented in the foreseeable future.

    I have a Mac laptop. Is VCDS already compatible with Mac?

    VCDS is Windows only, so you need to use something like Boot Camp.

    So I'll just use my VCDS mobile and wired it to a Windows laptop with VCDS?

    Your HEX-NET can be user with the full (Windows) version of VCDS via USB or via WiFi.

    Ok this should be fixed now in VCDS-Cloud. Feel free to try this again with VCDS-Mobile, if you haven't already done it with the PC software.

    I didn’t see this post right away, I already changed the battery information using a windows based VCDS but will try it with my wireless hex-net.
