Hello all,

I am asking this on behalf of a friend of mine.

He bought a Crafter 2.5TDI ADBlue, CECA Engine, 136PS, late 2009 which supposedly was driven only short distances and the DPF was full. He took it to a professional cleaning service and they told him that it had been cleaned almost completely and that the procedure went without any errors and the end result is great.
He installed it and removed all fault codes in the engine selection yet the alert on the dashboard was still there. He went on to clean the EGR valve and reinstalled it but with no difference what so ever. The engine doesn't go above 3000 RPM and the next step he had undergone is to check the injectors, which were in a very bad shape.

He couldnt get the error from the dashboard to go away, yet VCDS and Delphi were both not showing any errors. He tried the 'replacement' procedure in Delphi, which must have been successful, since VCDS (after enabling Secret Access to channel 15 and 16) was showing the measures in channel 15 and 16 to have been reseted to 0.

OBD2 scan shows that there is an error which is invisible in the fault codes of VCDS.

Is there some secret access code to delete something he might have missed? Does he have to do a forced regeneration (which would be hard to do as his car is currently not registered) to clean the error? Any 'secrets' he might have missed or is the only solution to pay VW a visit?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
