    New cable stop clones ?

Just bought the new unlimited and registered ,
Is this cable able to stop the clones as I've seen clones already that look like the new ones ,
Is there no way to imbed something in the software to combat the clones ?

The clones are often (usually?) sold with a CD which has hacked software on it - so putting something into genuine VCDS won't stop that.

So hacked software and cloned hardware there's no stopping them, looks like it's a simple answer to any young lad looking a cheap cable to use on their cars

Pirate units are cloned legacy Hex Can interface and though it looks like new generation of Ross-Tech hardware, they're not even close to the original.

    Looks can be deceiving.

Yes, there are plenty of clones that look like HEX-V2s, but the do not work like HEX-V2s.

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

I'm from the UK, and we get a lot more in-depth questions from other people in the UK.

BTW US style indicators would be an MOT fail, so not the greatest of ideas...

Yeah, but you're hardly a "young boy".

"Mature" in terms of years, but young in terms of mindset

I still mod my cars as much as I can to make them work as I want them to (while still being legal) - SWMBO has often been heard to say "what are you doing to that poor little car now?"
