I am trying to install an MFA instrument cluster in a 2005 Jetta MK4 TDI, I have everything wired up and ready for installation of the MFA. I have the SKC out of both clusters, I have program keys to the original cluster years ago using the SKC I have. I have re pulled the SKC to double-check, and it is the same. I am unable to log into the instrument cluster, when I enter the 0 + SKC, the trip meter says fail.

Does the car start and run with the original instrument cluster in it?

Does the original cluster accept a Login with the first PIN without dropping the diagnostic session?

Does the ECU accept a Security Access with the first PIN?

Does the replacement cluster accept a Login with the second PIN without dropping the diagnostic session?

starts runs and operates properly​

Does the original cluster accept a Login with the first PIN without dropping the diagnostic session?
Will not accept login at all, I am pulling the pin from the cluster and it will not accept it in VCDS​

Does the ECU accept a Security Access with the first PIN?
It does not accept it at all​

Does the replacement cluster accept a Login with the second PIN without dropping the diagnostic session?
Yes, it accepts it​

If both the original cluster and ECU do not accept that PIN, then I have to think that PIN is incorrect.

I'm at a loss for words. I have pulled the SKC from the working cluster and tried to login with that pin just afterward. I would think the SKC might be pulling wrong, but I have used it to program keys to this car/cluster about 4 years ago. If it worked then, why wouldn't it work now?

Are there any other modules that use the same SKC, that I can log into to verify the correct SKC is being used?

Nope. In that car, just the the ECU and the Instrument cluster.
