Traffic Jam Assist

Hi everyone,

I bought a Kodiaq in Ireland with multifunctional camera and Traffic Sign Recognition. Car also has Blind Spot Detection, Rear Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control and Front Assist. Unfortunately at the dealer there was no option for TJA and I thought since all the hardware is in the car it will function with TJA but it doesn't.

I am wondering if it is possible to enable it, or if anyone has in his car could share his/her auto-scan?!

You should be able to enable TJA+EA in this car. Only thing I am unsure is the 2Q0 ACC module, but it should be able to perform the EA stuff.

However, you will need to upload new parameters that include functionality for TJA to the A5 front sensor, which can unfortunately nit be done with VCDS right now.

What tool can upload those parameters? Do RossTech working on expanding capability of VCDS so you can upload parameters with it? You said it cannot be done right now, that made me thinking that it will be able to.

Is there a possibility that my A5 module has this feature uploaded already? Can it be checked?

EA= emergency assist. It will slow down the car to a halt safely and enable the hazard lights to warn others, in case the driver has a seizure or passes out for example.

You can check if you have TJA by looking at the lane assist indicator. If it turns green when you’re driving under 60km/h, you have it.
There’s no menu item to enable or disable it.

I think all Kodiaqs have TJA if you have ACC and Lane assist.

Looks like I will have a lend of that tool tomorrow to upload dataset into A5. Can someone tell me what coding/adaptation need to be done after that?

For a working Traffic Jam Assist only the parameters are required.
If you want to enable Emergency Assist, this would require additional coding.
