    2002 A4 3.0L engine error code with fuel trim log. Can some one help me understand?

    This week I noticed my car using way more fuel than usual so I did a scan and it revealed 16805 code. I went in the interstate and ran the engine at 4500 rpm for about 6 minutes to see if this would clean the cat out. I cleared the codes from (01) engine section on VCDS and went on the highway and ran a fule trim log for about 20 min at 70mph and about 2500 rpm. Can someone tell me what the fuel trim data is telling us?

    Those fuel trims look pretty decent to me.

    Has the fault come back?

    At on a 17 year old car with 182,000 miles, I'm gonna ask about the oxygen sensors. Are they original? They're cheaper than the Cats, but you're also at a point where it is possible that this Cat is about done.

    They would throw a code if they were truly failed, but a sensor can be off enough to cause a Cat fault without being off enough to set a code for the sensor itself.

    So I called the dealer today, and they replaced the Drivers side (Bank 2) Cat and O2 sensors 12 years ago at 100,001 miles. So (Bank 1) passengers side Cat and O2 sensors are the original. I cleared the code and did the Italian Tuneup, and so far the code has not come back. are there any recommendations as I move forward?

    So I called the dealer today, and they replaced the Drivers side (Bank 2) Cat and O2 sensors 12 years ago at 100,001 miles. So (Bank 1) passengers side Cat and O2 sensors are the original. I cleared the code and did the Italian Tuneup, and so far the code has not come back. are there any recommendations as I move forward?

    This isn't something done in VCDS.

    Don't you think you should ask your dealer to do for free & since it wasn't done or negated years ago when other work was done while warranty?

    Do you have the aforementioned 12 years ago, invoice & when VAG did the work, if so please post it?

    If dealer refuses please let me know..........

    Part number starts out life as 8E0-909-559D then supersedes to E and than R and in end as RX, right?

    Have you reviewed TSB's in ERWIN?
