As per title really. Does VCDS automatically log all of the coding changes you make?

Is there an option to enable this if not?

Cheers!

CodingLog ans AdpLog are enabled by default. I am not aware, that you are aböe to disable those logfiles.

Strange, this option doesn't seem to be working for me. Any thing I can do to test/force?

I have performed several changes and none have been saved it seems in any log file unless I've made manual saves of full scans or taken screenshots etc.

Are you sure you've looked in the DEBUG sub-folder?

Is it possible you have VCDS installed in more than one location and are looking in the wrong one?
For example: C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS vs. C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS-Beta ?

Is it possible some virus scanner or other nannyware is grabbing those files?

No, this has been installed on a standard Windows 10 machine in the default location - C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS.

I use the Windows security apps that came with it and nothing is being flagged as being blocked.

I also run the software on another laptop (Windows 7) so when I get back from work I am going to check that one too but I've always noticed those folders being empty from memory.

Debug is empty apart from one txt file with this inside "You can ignore the files in this folder".

It's an option I've always wondered that should be there but never knew it did it...or should be!

Strange, works on my Windows 7 machine but not on the Windows 10 machine.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to resolve?

I am local admin with full permissions and the only user on both machines.

What version of Windows 10 are you using?

It works on a Windows 10 tablet I use for VCDS which is running Windows 10 Pro.

This may or may not be the issue (since I have not had chance to test yet) but I've noticed some of my folders were set to compressed on the Windows 10 tablet/PC. This probably included the Ross-Tech folder too.

So perhaps this has caused the issue of VCDS not saving the changes. I never set this compression, I think it happened during a Win10 update since it will sometimes do this to ensure there is enough space to download and apply the updates.
I am pretty low on space on this machine.

Also noticed this section:

Windows 10 Compression:

You can turn off this compression by changing your settings via the following steps:
Settings / Windows Settings -> System (Icon) -> Storage (left hand column) -> "Change how we free up space automatically" (Blue hyperlink) -> Storage Sense (Toggle) -> Turn Storage Sense off.

So this could have also started to compress folders.
