Hello Ross Tech and future buyers,

Please reed and dont delete!!!!


2 years ago bought a micro can for 300 euros, ( 5 years waranty ) from PCI Germany.
Why please see this link down.

After a lot of back and forth mail with pci I was advised to use a micro can ( fully support Golf 7 )
if I only need it for my Golf 7.
of course purchased immediately to adjust the adjustments that I wanted to change in the gateway above ( link )

Unfortunately I could not adjust these adjustments because software does not support it!!!
So first asumeren that I use a clone that I must buy original, and with original also fails.

First disappointment that i have buy the cabel.

Since two weeks I want to changed some adaption channels on the BCM 09 but my cable does not support 256 bytes, so I can not change it!
The bcm is from 2014 and I bought the cable in 2016!fully support Golf 7. No way!

Second disappointment.

Considering I can not do much with my micro can I thought I would contact PCI about upgrades options, given they have a program, buy hex V2.

The offer I get here is absurd and ridiculous, I am so angry about it!!!

The only offer upgrades for a hex-can-usb and not for micro can!

Now it comes they offer me 50 euros, but then they must first receive the cable, and then I can pay 450 euros to receive Hex v2.

Ore i can keep the kabel and get discount 24.95 euro for a Hex V2 kabel ( 499 euro )

So Ross tech why would I buy an original if in two years I do not seem to be worth anything!

if you read this you are going to call then you should not be here, but complain with pci!

Under EU Law your dispute is with the company that mis-sold you the micro CAN as suitable for a Golf VII (i.e. PCI), maybe you should take legal advice on whether you have grounds for compensation for mis-selling?

Thank you for your advice, this writting in Englisch here takes me 1 hour of my time, the chance that you get along with it is clear.
Its not the money but the way of dealing with it once you have bought something!!!

even ross tech offers a better upgrade option for a micro cable, problem is sending and receiving outside the EU

Even though I live in the UK I've bought both my VCDS cables (first a HEX-USB+CAN then a HEX-NET) directly from Ross-Tech in the US - yes FedEx send you a customs invoice but it's not difficult - and as you say you can take advantage of their upgrade options.

Support from Uwe and his team has been amazing (fast, efficient and always fixed the problem) on the rare occasions I've needed it, so I like to give something back by helping on this forum when I can.

With international upgrades you do of course have the return shipping of the old interface to account for too.
In our experience, by the time shipping in both directions, VAT, duty and clearance fees are taken into account, there is usually very little difference in the price between upgrading direct via RT or doing so via a local distributor.

What are the errors you are seeing when you try to make the changes with your Micro-CAN?

Yes, when you bought from VS, you pay more than 100 euro tax in the Netherlands.
Delivery fee to the Netherlands olso takes 50 euro.

So distributors like PCI nows this, thats why the give a damm of you.

About the guestion what are the errors, no error i cannot acces this channels what i want, ther for you need 256 bytes cable like old hex can usb ore the new Hex V2 i think.

I am from the Netherlands to, and i bought my HEXv2 by the dutch distribitor of Rosstech, named RandstadCarsolutions.
first cable i've got from them was not working, i send it back and became a new one.
i am very happy with it.

1 week later blocks write vcdsforum.de.

first let buy by suggesting that I have a clone vcds, and block my account 1 week later!!!

What happens with regards to your posting rights on other forums isn't really something to deal with here.

Also the issue itself is really between you and PCI - that's who you have a contract with (and honestly posting complaints about them in an open forum is not likely to make them change their mind - if anything complaining in a public forum tends to have the opposite effect).

Just to get a timeline on this though:
- What year is the car? (do you have an autoscan you can post)?
- When did you purchase the interface?
- When did you first report the problem to PCI?

Wait a minute.

You have replaced the BCM on a Mk7 with one from a Mk7.5 (i.e. MY2017 or newer), and that's what you're having problems with?

No, I flashed my BCM to higher version, so the same BCM!

Orginal VW version AA

After flashing to AE or AJ, the footwell lights and LED door panels do not work!
Works when i open the door with ignition on!
These settings need to be adjusted, problem is micro can not show them, a hex can usb or Hex v2 shows.

I was able to change the adaption channel "Interior lighting parameter-p_helligkeit_Fzg_geschlossen_zuendung_ein_tueren". I guess you can't change it, because the whole adaption channel group is 256 Bytes long, which the Micro-CAN does not support (to be confirmed by RT).

With all due respect it is about that.
The Micro-CAN interface was retired at the end of 2016 and the HEX-V2 launched in 2017.
If the Micro-CAN worked fully with the car as supplied, and you put software on which was intended for a later model such as the Mk7.5, you are changing the vehicle beyond the spec the interface was designed to work with.

If when you bought the interface it worked with all the systems and coding on your car, and the functionality has only been broken by a software update you have done, then that is not the seller's fault - we cannot predict what will be changed in future software releases.

If the Micro-CAN didn't work with the original software on the car that would be a different matter (but if so, it sounds like you have waited 3 years to report it? You could have emailed them outside of the forums after all)

Its working well!!!!!!! but the possibility to acces some channels will not work even made some changes ore not on a nother car!

I appreciate it for you to respond that you are going to read the whole story instead of calling something, then I have to react again!

Beyond that may or may not be able to change the adaptations, can not read that I get a offer for a working cable from then 300 euros ( 2016 ) now only 50 euros !!!

Please dont talk like a distributor, but put you in my shoes, before you do that read everthing well.

There's always two sides to every story and while hearing your complaint is certainly noted and your comments are valued, there seems to be a general misunderstanding.

While we have our ears close to the new models and their development process, we cannot foresee what VW/Audi do in the upcoming years. At the time the interface was sold to you, the situation with the upcoming models was not known to us (including the distributors). So as a matter of fact, the interface sold to you was fully functional with the supported models at the time.

As people stated in the forum topic mentioned in your original post, many had trouble understanding what exactly your problems/questions were due to your use of "google translate". While I do not recollect the entire history, it pretty much ended with your account being restricted/limited (not banned/blocked) due to you harassing other forum members via private messages. Said members did use the report function on your messages, which is why the forum moderators had to step in. All usage of forums (including this one) happens under the forum owners "terms and conditions" and if these are violated, it doesn't matter if you are a customer or not, the forum owner has all rights to take the appropriate actions.

You have stated multiple times that your account at PCI's forum is blocked. That is NOT the case. Your account is active, the limitations are that all forum topic/posts have to be screened by a moderator before actually being published and that you are no longer allowed to send private messages. Both actions were not taken lightly, but were a follow up on your behavior. As a matter of fact, you have last used your account to access the forum about an hour ago. Which wouldn't be possible if it was banned/blocked!


As far as the upgrades go, each distributor is free to offer upgrades or not - or to limit them to certain types of devices. The fact that they do not offer an upgrade for your scenario may be disappointing but at the same time, you always have the chance to sell your device yourself and purchase a new one, this procedure is (in most cases) more cost effective for you than choosing the upgrade option.


Mike@Gendan already mentioned it, posting your beef in a public forum rarely buys you good will. What is IMO absolutely inappropriate, is publishing emails and personal conversations. That certainly does not get you any good will. After reading the whole email chain again, I cannot see any point where you were treated disrespectful.




Now that there is some other perspective on the situation, let's all step back a little and find a way to actually solve your problem. Simplest solution towards a current generation interface: sell the Micro-CAN via eBay (or similar classified sites/papers), purchase the device you want through a distributor of your choice. After looking through your topics/posts, I read afrom another user that he suspects you have an issue with a rather lengthy adaptation channel group, though I am missing a confirmation from your end - specifically a screenshot or a quote of the exact error message. Feel free to point me in the right direction, if that is something you already answered.

Hello Sebastian,

Thank you for your reply, I have made changes on my BCM, i now that, so i have flashed back to AA no fehlers in the bcm, everthing back to stock.

The problem is, that I bought micro can kabel on your advice ( vcdsforum.de and with mail conversation PCI ) at the time only use for VW golf 7.
Then I find out with the gateway ( 2016 ) that I can not change those adaptions at all, disappointment while I asked.
now again with these adaptation channels my car or another I can not reach again because it was not supported!

A question you then understand my disappointment second time!

ok, I think I'll just buy an original hex v2, upgrade option pci, finally third disappointment i get 50 euro.

I have put everything back to stock, no faults..

The problem was why I flashed the lights sometimes stay longer when I come out of the garage in a broad daylight!
