Please try reading fault codes directly in the engine.

" or DTCs not supported by controller
or a communication error occurred"

Given "sympathy code" in the ABS module, I'm fairly confident the ECU has at least one fault code, so I take the above to indicate that a communications error did occur.

I did it and got "17417 - Mass Air Flow Sensor 1/2
P1009 - 004 - Implosible Signal from Load Calculation - MIL ON

I cleared all codes and now I do not have it anymore. problem is gone. I did those before seeing Jack's post.
I didnt know but it seems that when we call codes directly from 1 controller we get more information. Is it like this by design?

Nope, should not be the case. An Auto-Scan should show all the fault codes and all related freeze-frame data, but in the case of your original Auto-Scan, something when awry when reading faults from the ECU.

I checked air filters, cleaned MAF Sensors, conducts, Trottle Body, reset trottle body adjustement from vcds (engine, basic settings, 060) and cleared codes.

If it comes back I supposed it should mean faulty MAF sensor.
Damn Vacuum leaks... can't find any. pump seems running fine to me.

Cleaning does not seems to fix it. It may take a few days, but MAF Sensor error is coming back.

I did not find easy to follow procedure to test MAF Sensor. Is there any for my Touareg 2005?

Same as any other pre-UDS gasoline engine, except you need to log both sensors and add the values together.

It's been a long time since I've played with one of these old V8s with dual MAFs, but I think the individual MAF readings are in MVB 077.2 (Bank 1) and 078.2 (Bank 2).

No. Because error message does not seems to be made in a way to provide a different one if it changes. What makes it harder is also that it takes days sometimes to get the error again after I clear DTCS.
