Hello,

Would anyone know how to disable having to press the brake pedal before starting the engine?
This is an automatic tranny and I found tweaks on how to disable pressing the clutch pedal, but not the brake.

Another one that I would like to fix is the ECM getting very frustrated with me opening the door while in gear.
I need to back up into my garage and I sometimes open the door to see how close I am to obstacles.
It the immediately starts chiming, throws a stupid message that the lights are on (duh) and sets the emergency brake.
It also throws the wrong message when I open the door when in Park.

I'm not sure what to change for this. but it's bugging me.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

As a side-note, would anyone know what this radio 5F fault message means (please see autoscan below)?

Erase faultcode in 5F, when the faultcode returns its time to investigate further. Sometimes there are old faultcodes or faultcodes that do no limit the device in any way.

Thanks Mari, I had already reset that code after seeing the autoscan.

I'm not too worried about it, another message popped up when my Sirius subscription ended, though that was pretty clear, indicating that a tuner was off or disabled or something like that.

I have been messing with the radio trying to enable the TPMS menu, but that is another thread... ;-)

Is it safe to test the bit that toggles starting the engine without pressing the clutch?

This is an automatic, but I can't start the engine without pressing the brake.
I'm thinking to try it in case the "switch" is on the brake pedal for the same function.
