I am trying to recode the RLFS to 06805D in order to enable the Rain Closing and when I click "DO IT" I get "Error 31: Request Out Of Range" no matter what.

below is current autoscan for context. please note that I retrofitted an IDENTICAL RLFS on my Golf, which I was able to recode last week.

Try some plausible WSC, Importer, and Equipment Number on the Options screen, saving the new values, and re-starting VCDS.

I set those values once when I installed VCDS then they grayed out. I now understand it would be better not to use values as dumb as those.

I would like to set the values from the Octavia scan, those are factory.

then I suppose I just recode with the same coding to update every module?

Delete you VCDS.cfg file. You'll then need to do [Options] -> [Test] again with an interface connected.

You can then set the values again if you wish. I suggest your postal code for the WSC, the correct Importer for you country (I don't recall what it is for Italy), and the last five digits of your interface serial number (the short one on the label) as the Equipment Number. This ensures enough randomness that your values are unlikely to end up on some list at VAG HQ. ;)

I'm not sure why you would want to have your new (sorta random) WSC, Importer, and Equipment Number recorded in every module. I would leave dogs that are happily asleep alone. ;)

makes sense, but I already did it haha. I didn't do the airbag module because the LC Helper is pretty firm in saying "don't touch it". and I actually never did, I would never touch module 15. however, I wonder why it's set to 01357 011 12345 even if I never recoded it.

Wow, Page 2 and yet no solution :D

If setting Bit 2 in Byte 0 does not work in RLFS, you need to combine Bit 2 with Bit 1. Set both in a row.

Bit 1 indicates Rain light function.

I keep getting error 31 no matter what, when trying to code to 06805D. I had to code it to 07805D. guess that's the way it is. however, I have it coded to 06A8DD in the Golf. go figure.
