Hi guys
I´m a newbi here, and have just purchased a very nice S6 from 2000 (C5 4B). I have purchased the Hex enthusiast from Ross-tech and have started to play with it. I have no knowledge about this tool, but will hopefully learn by reading and practice. The tool lists a number of faults which I will try to look into one by one, but today the car works almost perfect.
Originally this car was installed with a RNS-D, but a previous owner has ripped this out and put in a Android unit which I didn´t like at all. I have now retrofitted a RNS-E, and after some challenges, everything is now working fine. Info from the unit to the DIS, illumination in the buttons, turns on and off with the ignition. All seem to work fine. However the VDCS log lists a number of faults, but I don´t know if I can live with these or not. Any ideas from you will highly appreciated.
The issue I am struggling with now is the buttons on the original steering wheel. The previous owner may have changed the code when the Android was installe, but I am not able to change the existing code (00100). Even if I don´t get any error messages when trying, it just jumps back to the current code. I don´t have any security access code (if this is needed), but VCDS suggests 12345. Do I need a different code, or do you have any other ideas.
I have attached the last log. Is it possible to read the date / time when the different faults are logged? Any ideas how to move on here? Any special fault that shows up as more serious than other ?
