I have two different manual procedures on file for BAP/BAN (Phaeton W12) which will probably also serve for your twin-turbo BEB. If you'll PM me your email address, I'll send them to you. They are in a table format that would be annoying to transcribe on the forum right now.

You MAY have an automated factory end-of-line test available at address 31, basic settings block 200.

In the end, I just did the drive cycle twice (just needed it done) and now it's ready. Still I'd be very interested to find a way to set readiness with VCDS...

Wow, I had not idea that there was AW 31, there was end-of-line test there however it did not work , all fields were empty and despite the brake on/gas to the floor (parking brake on, engine temp >90C), ), nothing seemed to happen for 2+ minutes so I gave up. (when I have some time to figure out how to attach a picture easily, I'll add it here)

I think I may have seen these manual procedures at vwvortex, but still I'd love to see them so I will PM you my e-mail in a sec - thanks a lot in advance!

FYI to others needing this (in the USA, at least), the Bentley recommended drive cycle is called "D3E804634B5-Bosch_ME_7_1_12_whole_system.pdf" here: erwinusa.bentleymotors.com
I had to do it over twice (not sure if this is required), over 2 days, with both times "vehicle temperature is about outdoor temperature (“cold engine start”), time for cooling down at least 10 h with open bonnet"

Still looking for a detailed script to generate readiness with VCDS if anyone can help.

Well, I have one at the home shop with the engine out to fix some vacuum lines and other misc items, as soon as I am done, I can do some testing and make a post in our How to and Tips section when I have a tested readiness procedure with VCDS.

It might be a while, but when done I do need to set the readiness code.

I read it more carefully and I see helpful information on readiness with some specific/general pointers, however it is not detailed enough and not specific to this engine. Also I am not willing to try more stuff on a $40k+ engine that is not proven that will work.

Fiddlesticks......... no sense of VCDS adventure and just what harm do you think you could do with VCDS running readiness basic setting tests?

And dont say the TV or AUX brake booster while running because they are the only test done engine not running with key ON.

I've sent you the two procedures I have on file.

For basic settings in block 200, the preconditions are very picky. I've had a hell of a time getting it to run on my W12 in the past, quite often it just shows a test-remaining counter that never decrements. If it's going to run, it'll start decrementing almost immediately. You'll see block 200 in 01 and 31, I think you have to run it in 31, the engine has to be up to operating temperature, IAT can't be too high (it can't have been running parked for an excessive amount of time), and I think it helps to have cleared codes just prior. Then the usual full brake full throttle..

I do not know enough of what damage I could do, that's why I don't want to try it.

Indeed, thanks a lot! It is much easier to have the data from both ECUs. These are useful pointers, especially the IAT can't be too high, as mine might have been. I'll check it again next time when it's needed (the car is gone now).

It might be a while, but when done I do need to set the readiness code.

That would be awesome, thank you!
