Calling all Air bag specialists ,

I have a 2005 A 3 S line 2.0 diesel front end crash . I purchased a Airbag Module ( Used ) with the exact part number to the original, and 2 used but serviceable seat belts .

I assume the driver wasnt wearing seat belts at the time of the crash as the belts were locked up in the unused position and the Dash and steering wheel airbags werent deployed . ??

How do i programme the new bits to get the airbag light off . ??

PS any specialist in the midlands prepared to come and fix it, i am happy to pay to take a look !! all the work to fit these parts is done , just need the electtro nic side sorting .

Thanks in anticipation

Steve

Hello Steve,

Thanks for your question, posting an Auto-Scan would be helpful.

As for the question about replacing Airbag components, typically you will need to follow the safety and repair instructions in the Official Factory Repair manuals. Once the necessary parts are replaced, the fault codes in the Airbag controller should clear, many Airbag controllers can store multiple 'crash events' without the need for replacement.

Be careful about used and replacement Airbag parts, many of these components will have the same part number, however they will have a different index number and may not be compatible with the Airbag controller that is installed. So sometimes it is best to order these parts by VIN.

Hope this helps,

drpeter

Many thanks drpeter ill have a look at repair manuals as advised . I was a little sceptic buying second hand parts but it wasnt too costly. so not a huge waste if they arent any good . ill get a scan done and post asap
