Than itís nasty for sure, and i agree with PetrolDave about a warning box so that other vcdsírs donít make the same mistake.
I know that any changes are anybodyís own risk, but in this case an extra warning could be welcome

    I guess trying 02 doesn't hurt.
In the autoscan you can see that i inreed changed byte 18 in 02, and wat it was i donít know either.
But the 02 is for now the best option, because my lights are working acceptable for the law
Only my DRL, CH/LH and trunk light doesnít work now at the moment

Also the rear lid wonít open when i unlock the doors, so i need to use the middle button of the remote to open that.
But that belongs to byte 00 of central electrics.
The mirror heaters also wonít warm up and i must find out wat more doesnít work.

Anyway, your option 02 didnít hurt at all...

    This isn't sufficient?

I think Your coding is so messed up. I think You could try:

If doesn't help, revert to original.

That looks plenty good enough to me - must admit after reading all the warnings online I have never ever attempted to change byte 18 - I know my limits

WoW, this is something worth to try, the 48 on byte 0 haven’t i tried and it could be that the (un)lock works on the rear lid again.......i will do it this afternoon and keep in touch

@golfi_vend you are the man of the day !!!!!!!!!!!!!

your longcoding made that everything worked normal again.
i only had to adjust a couple of preferances like things i don't have in my car, and things i want 'on' wich you don't.
i like my footwel lights always burns, and i don't have to close a sunroof by rain.
but hey, everything works again so i don't have to go to the dealer or someone with VCP

thanks a lot, i'm very pleased with it and learned that byte 18 should be ignored from now on.....

I wasn't sure on those. Your coding looked quite off from some bytes so included them based on your/and other golf6 hatcback codings.

Interestingly, I read another forum where someone had a similar issue to this: "clone" copy of VCDS screwing up their coding and it all going awry! It was on a caddy though.

There may be an upcoming outbreak of "clone" users having issues

Most of the "clones" being sold these days are no longer straightforward clones with copies of a valid serial number and license. Instead they have a made-up serial number (for which no valid license exists) and they use a "loader" that modifies the VCDS software on-the-fly in order to get around the lack of a valid license. Needless to say, making changes in the sofware on-the-fly while it's running risks unpredictable side-effects.

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.
