Cant be done with an IMMO defeat ecu in 050...........
Cant be done with an IMMO defeat ecu in 050...........
Indeed, but if IMMO is intact in cluster and OP replaces ECU with working unit, there wouldn't be any deleted immo.
Correct but he would then need the other pin code from the ecu he is installing and not just his existing cluster pin.
.....
I need to replace my ecu but am finding it difficult to find out if it can be done with my Vcds. I have the pin for original and replacement (used). ...
OP says that he has both:
What kind of suggestion are you looking for?
We have yet to see what your immobilizer is showing in MVB 081.
VCDS is getting the VIN from your car somewhere, somehow.

081: WVWZZZ1KZ6B035216 VWZ7Z0E2424907 0000000
So as expected, it's still old-school, PIN-based Immo.081: WVWZZZ1KZ6B035216 VWZ7Z0E2424907 0000000
You're doing this in the ECU as follows?
Login (or Security Access) to the ECU first, using its PIN
Then use your Cluster's PIN in the ECU's Adaptation Channel 50.
Is your key matched to the immo in the cluster? I suspect a matched key is a requirement.
There may also be a 5-minute wait enforced somewhere in this process with that car.
