Hello, new member, got a problem with getting the shift paddles to work on my Multivan. I purchased the car without multifunction steering wheel, bought steering wheel with the shift paddles, installed the 2 wires needed for the LIN and the 12V and after coding everything works great, besides the shift paddles. Can anyone help please, as I really want to get this great feature to work. Thanks

Provided your retrofitted wiring is correct, you have to recode "09" Cent.Elect. in Byte 09 mark Bit 3.
Just it will show "28" for LIN participant Front Power Windows installed and Multi-Function-Steering-Wheel (MFSW) installed.
Then cycle ignition, wait and re-read the fault codes.

Thanks for your reply. The wfsw in 09 bit 3 in coded. It’s probably not shown on the scan I posted as it is from September( sorry I couldn’t post a new one as the van is in the shop getting new paint) As I said everything works, meaning both left and right side buttons work, I even activated the more detailed display menu, I can answer the phone from the steering wheel, even the voice command works. The only problem is with the DSG shift paddles on the wheel(+ and -)is not working. These vans did not come with paddle shifters, but in the UK people got them working, but nobody’s sharing on how they did it. Thanks!
Problem solved! I went to my local VW dealer and told them about the paddle shifters that I installed, i asked them to update the firmware on the TCM and now the shift paddles work great!
