I have a little retrofit project in the works...

One of the last pieces I need is the proper terminals or VW repair wire sets, for convenience CAN bus access. But, there's a bewildering array of terminal types and associated repair wires. I'm having a hard time identifying which one I need just eyeballing them on the Interwebs.

Is there a good way to identify terminal/pin types based on connector part numbers? The vehicle harness side is 4F0972575B, the seat harness side 4F0972483B, I need the vehicle side pins.

Failing that, is there a good way to order an assortment that I can guess and check with?

[Virtually] all of VW/Audi connectors are made for them by AMP/Tyco/TE Connectivity (all the same company) and will possibly have an Amp Part No. as well as the VW/Audi Part No. Having said that, there are about four main contact types for the housings. The bewildering number of contacts is because there are different wire sizes for the same housings.

Look for:
Junior Power Timer
Micro Power Timer
MQS
MCP

RS Components do a massive range of them; including the little rubber seals that you crimp in to the end of the contact.

I have a little retrofit project in the works...

Is that spinny thing part of it..? :D

That pin does look right for my CAN bus connection. But JFC, $40 USD for qty 1, and I need at least two if I want to avoid extra splices. If it's going to be that kind of party, I could order the pins and a crimp tool and come out even. That or wait for the slow boat from China...

May I ask how you looked this up? I thought I've seen connector housing and pin/terminal designations in PL24 somewhere, but have never been able to find it again.

Order is normally min. 5 in a bag, for that price I guess it is 5 wires (10 pins)

The wires for different connectors, can be looked up in etka.
I asked PL24, at Automechanika, if they could not implement that feature.
He wrote it down and told they should have meeting after Automechanika and discuss all suggestions.
But they have not made it available yet.
